you can tell florence is wrecked in this but so gracious about everything, the absolute cutest human

Just watched it and it was a great adaptation. Kila's performance is also outstanding. Lelio knows how to make a compelling film.

No, this is Florence's movie.

The film is wonderful in my opinion. A lot of people criticized it for breaking the fourth wall but it didn’t bother me. The story is about faith/fantasy vs. reality so it made sense to me. It was an unusual approach for sure. The acting is all around stellar!

I think the idea with that forth wall break is because Kitty couldn't read well but is obsessed with making stories so the character makes one that turns into a movie. I will admit it's still a very odd choice.

I didn’t mind either way but I thought it was just a bit pointless. Didn’t add anything to the film. A bit of a gimmick.

Private school education and a family with money. Not to detract from her talent - which is immense and undeniable - but she does come from a very privileged background.

@@PacifiedGenY I think she is an immensely talented actor, but it, unfortunately, is true that there are few actors from working-class backgrounds coming out of the UK nowadays. It is presently very difficult to pursue a career in the arts if you don't have the financial wherewithal to back it up.

@@china100 100%. Talent is not in the minority but financial security is. I wonder just how many more amazing actors the UK could produce if the cost of day to day living was not so exorbitant? How many talented performers have to choose between putting food on the table and a roof over their heads versus auditions, poorly paid beginner roles, training etc etc.?

Just watched the film on Netflix today really enjoyed it interesting film. Pugh was amazing god shes just great in everything. She even elevated Don't Worry Darling

She seems a lot more genuine than Kate Winslet. I don't dislike Kate but she always sounds so artificial and put on with her interviews. Florence always has this very frank and sincere look to her, she's either a much better actress (even at performing interviews) and/or she's just more genuine.

I didn't know the mother and daughter are actually related.
