Congratulations on the Oscar nomination and I enjoyed your Cordelia but I really came for the ice cream! A small amount of cornflour (1/2tsp) in the eggs, when you whisk them, will help stabilize the custard mixture and stop it from curdling. Every maker I've used has had a way of removing the beater/mixer. Check the instructions. Oh! And I would kill for that ice cream maker :-)

I made french vanilla last week. Came out tasty, but hard as cement and kind of "icy". Tonight I just made dutch chocolate and doctored it a little bit. - both of these were premade mixes, still getting used to my icecream maker - which BTW is a 10th as nice as yours. After this batch, I'll try a higher level recipe. Yours look GREAT in the mixer toward the end, I have to say.

I've experimented a few times with making boozy ice cream. We have a quart ice cream maker and I just play with my 6 recipes from time to time. The base is whole milk, heavy cream, and sugar. Then add chocolate powder or syrup for chocolate ice cream, or vanilla extract for plain. Then add in whatever extras and a little alcohol to make it margarita, fuzzy navel, black russian, pina colada, etc. The fan favorites seem to be Margarita and a concoction I call The Black Pearl which mixes dark rum and chocolate covered peanuts in chocolate ice cream. They're not potent enough to get a buzz from(unless you eat the entire container) but they are delicious 👍 Mix them up and immediately put them in some large freezer friendly tupperware or single serve thermos-type containers and right into the freezer. A deep freeze freezer is best but a common freezer keeps them from going too solid so you can enjoy them without breaking your ice cream scooper or having to wait 30 minutes for it to soften enough to serve. One of these days I'll have to look in to how to start a business for that without a liquor license, partnership with the alcohol industry, business degree, or city ordinance approval or whatever 🤣🤷
