You're not entirely wrong. The Dutch word for flower is 'Bloem', however the name Floor stems from Flora which means 'to flourish/blooming/flowering', in Roman mythology it is also known as the goddess of flowers and spring. Not sure why I went out of my way to explain all of that, but there you go.

Yup Jukka - very melodic drummer. His drums hit notes and don't just set rhythm. Sadly, their current drummer doesn't even tune his drums.

Other reactions: "Head voice here... very nice mix. Down to chest voice. Good staccato." Shaq, five minutes in: "She a LADY!" Love it man.

All the backing instruments like the flutes, violins, and brass instruments you heard were saved during their recording in the studio, and keyed into the keyboards so that he only has to press a key to reproduce the sound live on the stage. The pianist/keyboardist is also the songwriter and composer of Nightwish. He writes 95% of all the music and lyrics himself. Nearly everything you hear on a Nightwish album was written and composed by this guy, so playing the pre-recorded notes of the other instruments on his keyboard onstage is no different than him being the conductor. It'd cost way too much money to send the original backing instrumentalists out on the road with Nightwish every night whenever they're on tour, and since the keyboardist/pianist is the composer anyway, it's easier to just have him recreate the sounds of these instruments himself just like a maestro would when pointing to specific sections of a symphony.

Been listening to NW since their debut album and never heard him miss a beat, not even once, in these extremely difficult not to mention extremely *long* compositions of Holopainens. All of them are top tier of world class musicians ever.

@@akshayhere Dunno about that, check out their older stuff, when they were more of a Symphonic Power Metal band, both the keyboardist & guitarist were shredding back and forth solos right at the top along anyone else in the business. But they've chosen that the composition as a whole take's precedent, and therefore is the main focus of their writing, than showing off their individual shredding skills...it's not needed in their material much any longer, the compositions speak for themselves, rather than indulging, inflating their egos with lot's of noodling up and down all over the fretboard/keyboard.

@@WebsterRob composition wise, I still think Dream Theater is better. Although Nightwish's more symphonic take is an entirely different approach and I believe comparing it with the kind of prog metal approach DT has is not fair. They are quite different. NW makes grand compositions that sound very operatic, mainly because of the vocals, which is one thing I believe is better than DT. On the other hand, DT focuses on complicated yet enjoyable compositions that employ odd time signatures, intricate movements, especially in their more proggy ventures, which I love. That doesn't mean I don't love Nightwish. I just think DT is better. But to each his own I guess.

Congratulations! You've now seen possibly one of the most brilliant live performances of all time, Nightwish at Wacken Open Air 2013.

14:13 my good sir.. she was three quarters into a 90 minutes set when she puled this one.. yes it's ridiculous, Floor Jansen is a she beast.. you have had a Floorgasm The guys in the band gather from hotels the warningsigns for her.. 'WARNING !!! WET FLOOR !!" or "CAUTION !!! WET FLOOR !!" that stuff, she actually carries a bucket on tour, a yellow one with these lines, the guys stole that for her, and she loves it !!

I am going to give you some background information to help you navigate their songs and to get to know them! I subbed...... Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is permanent. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just saw her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. Lol The Steelers looked awful Sunday!!!!!

she is on a singing show in the Netherlands called Beste Zangers ( Best Singers ). This Saturday is duets. She will team up with Henk to sing Phantom of the Opera. Her last two songs went to number one in the Netherlands back to back, a week apart. It can be watched on KZread after they upload it. It is going to be epic. Thanks to KZread l can watch it from Georgia USA.

As a long time fan, I always love to find comments like these in reaction videos. Nightwish is a real gem of a band and it's good to see more people discovering their music.

This is the best sounding musical act on the planet today. On tour worldwide in 2020. Tuomas now has the hardware in place to put there name up there with Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Stones whoever. Just watch...

Yeah... I stumbled onto these guys about three years ago. I’ve spent years playing in bands. I know singers who have the goods. This girl should own Whole Foods as she is has the goods in spades. She is very humble too boot. The entire project is amazing...
