I love your videos, they have taught me a huge amount. I have a more simple method for a floating farm and it's more hidden and the crops can't be stolen, ever. Make a raft, lower the foundations at the front, no need in the middle or back, place some crop plots and veg etc, then find a cliff edge where the raft can clip through, place an intake pipe and a tap or two in the cliff and sail your raft into the same spot. It might take a little trial and error to get it right but it is great in the early game for hiding crops. The same method can be used to hide an entire boat base in the cliff face.

I managed to get small crop plots to work by placing them diagonally within the rooms, so you could get two per room, though the setup necessitates a door instead of a window since the plot toward the back can't be reached from outside... Though it's all probably pointless anyway what with the armored plot setup. Fun thought, I wonder if the upcoming large dino ceiling doors will allow for giant armored farms, heh.

I have all but converted my life to the water using Onewing's methods. Half my tribe thought i was insane till they saw the boats and how well they worked.

Anthropologically, this seems very advanced

please build the underwater trap boat. we need this for manta.

Another great vid thanks! It's a pity a water tank cannot be used on a raft. I hope they make it work. Can't see a reason why it shouldn't be available.

Hey ONEWING, Lobe the tutorials, super helpful. Could you by chance make armored crop plots on this boat? So the rain can still hit the crops and be protected, and save pieces. I have no idea how you'd do it but I'd love to see a video on it :)

Hi and yes I think you could, this vid predated the armoured crop plot vid and actually led to the idea to try it. Just keep one foundation two levels higher then the base and extend hatch frames off of it.

BTW two vids from now I'll look at an easier way that you can tag onto any boat to protect your crop for cheap. Just gatta get the explosive traps out of the way first.

Maybe, I've been wanting to try a 6x6 instead of 5x5 that one was. I prefer raft builds though as there is a limit once you hit 88 pieces its done. With bases its never done, you can always add more defences to it.

+xONEWINGx As long as you get the basic base done I think it would be fine, with no limit, your viewers can customize it as much as they would want.

+xONEWINGx twin. because i use a flyer to lure whatever to the boat. i noticed a flaw in mine. rex still can bite my raft and damage the railing (i used wood. its a distraction for dinos to bite on so they face a direction)

I'm building a covert low profile raiding boat... I'm considering putting an underwater ballista, a cannon on the inside poking out of a metal door, and the only entrance is from a hatch underwater. My biggest issue is the getaway when pteras are following the boat. I'm going to place a 2x2x2 DEEP water box base, so that someone can jump straight down the hatch into the water to unload without being seen. Do you have any advice, suggestions or thoughts about this, Master Engineer?

I don't think you can grab ladders underwater just keep that in mind, might be best to add your chute under the rudder so you can easily get out of the water by grabbing it, quickest and no parts needed.

I thought Plant Species X couldnt be placed on platforms now? Or is that only Dino Platforms? Or maybe the Xbox version isnt updated to that patch yet?

Only dino platforms, rafts are fine.

Did you have any issues with sinking the foundations in the raft post v737 update? It is not working for me. Love the videos

Nope, just tested it and it was fine. I've noticed its harder to find the lower snap with thatch then stone though.

Julien Paris strong suggestion is to not because you can’t hook up the pipe for constant water but you could ride the big close to a land pipe and that will work

No you don't

I tried the build tonight, and seems to have problem with water... six hours after planting (I was logged off and sleeping) the crop plots almost run out of water. THe plots do have access to the sky (I followed this great technic with the chess table style harchframe+ceiling placing)... may it be the problem that my farm is tucked away to the edge of the map and since no one is there that area just go stasis and no raining happens (Center map, out of t he see near the map border). Edit: struggled for another day, but for me the crops run out of water quickly and then the plants withering away. It seems without irrigation the raft farm is very inefficient...

Did you offset them a bit so the centre of the plot is under the hole? Are you using medium crop plots?

Yes, mediums as shown on the video, but mybe I didn't center perfectly. So at the end I removed the ceilings and then everything worked fine.... until 2 days later the alpha tribe found it and sink the whole thing :(

The gaps in the ceilings allow rain water to irrigate the crops. I built this and the only thing different I did was to irrigate the plant turrets from shore before moving it, just to make sure they grew correctly.

keV Wolf not if your careful. It’s hard for them to get you close to land and idk about you but I never seen them on the west side
