And it preserves the flavor imo. I always used a wooden knocker to stun the fish then put them on ice if possible. Or a wet cloth will certainly work for a short time. The main thing for smaller fish is don't let them die in a bucket of water. They go off really quickly.

Without a doubt the best way to fish! The excitement for me is seeing the float dissappear then feeling solid resistance as you strike. Such hard fighting fish! I also enjoy pollack, wrasse, GARFISH, and occasional bass.

Ceiling, table, manual or electric I don't know, all I know is that I'm a big Smash fishing fan. Hell Yeah! 😁👍

Great video again, inspires me, a rank amateur to get out and macky bash with my pals!

Jay have to agree with you about not over complicating your set up. Go back to basics, they worked before, they will work now. Mackerel pound for pound are one of the hardest fighting fish in the sea. Those maccys sure looked good, can’t beat fresh fish. Tight lines

Fair play. Float fishing is magic. Can be a bit demoralising if others around you are using feathers and catching galore, but if you just want one or two nothing beats it. Just chilling out. Highly recommend it ! Got home with fresh maccy on Tuesday then went and dug some new potatoes out the greenhouse. What a tea that was 😝. Keep em coming Jay 👍

I'll have you know I saw an Australian man catch a huge golden something or other fish on 4 lb test line just last week on Brooksy's fishing channel. The fish had long whiskers and I want to say it was 48" long but might have grown a bit in my imagination. Point is big fish can be caught on light tackle but you're in for a battle if you get on to a big one. Cheers.

Mackerel is one of my favorite fish, taste good and is fun catching.

First, have you changed cameras? All of a sudden the definition is outstanding! The rocks, the water, everything appears to be 3D. This was absolutely amazing and you couldn't have picked a more beautiful day!!!! Second...what's up with the beard? 🤔 I don't mind beards, which doesn't matter either way as I'm not the one wearing it or sleeping with it. Just wondered if I've been so busy watching the scenery and content of your videos that I failed to notice your face! 🤣😂🤣😂 Anyway, another fine video from my favorite forager/fisherman! 😘

I jus had a delicious surf and turf dinner and had to watch one of ur videos right after. My lobster tail i put the garlic powder in the water like u do and added two table spoons of butter it was amazing, great video im gonna try this on some trout in a few weeks

We have seen so many videos my boys have started quoting you while we fish. E.g. " were going to be eating good today whooa" we did a video on our channel called " how to build a rocket stove about a week ago where they say it a couple times while fishing lol. You should come to Michigan and fish our great lakes. We've got large and small mouth bass, pike, trout, salmon, perch, giant channel cat, sunfish,blue gill. Its pretty amazing. 😊❤

Reckon that plane was parachuting in people from the Isle of Man desperate to get to the only place we are allowed to go on holiday to! Loved the video, proper old school and single Macky on lightest gear is how they should be fished, lb for lb hardest fighter in British waters?
