I was wondering if you could do a vlog about what you like/dislike about Denver. E.g., health care, inclusion & diversity, atmosphere, variety, availability of recreation and proximity of stores, gyms, unique shops, hobbies, clubs/associations etc. whats hot/whats not in Denver. Does that make sense?

There is a certain satisfaction with TRP where you can so easily flip through the pages. Something about the sound. I've had great luck this month with "using my shit" and found it a great way to just keep myself going with journals, etc. Did really good with a low-buy. I also really owned some of the makselife goal methods. So the yearly goal is to have a usable budget that helps my stay aware of things, etc. and January's goal was just "investigate options" which was a great small step to get started. This month's goal is now that I'm set up in a system, do more tutorials and experiment with options.

I think me just making it through January is a big accomplishment. My dad passed a few days into the year after a grueling battle with cancer (which was just diagnosed a little over halfway into last year). There's been a lot of other stuff going on too (my senior cat having issues, my other cat having issues, tons of problems with my apartment, and I have a boatload of chronic illnesses and had to skip appts bc of what was going on with my dad). But for once I actually got the majority of February done before February actually started (a lot of times I haven't been markering stuff in until the month was almost over). I'm hoping this year I can get back into using both my bujos more often again (I have a health one and then everything else one). I've been trying to channel your energy, so for Feb I didn't completely draw everything out in pencil and go back with markers/pens. It wasn't perfect, but it's better than doing it all twice! A line I came up with last year that's been helping me out a lot is "not perfect is better than not at all."

I love this! I'm so glad i actually bought the ML quarterly notebooks. January was an absolute garage month. To the point that for me, 2024 is an 11 month year that started February. My grandfather went into hospice 03Jan, with me finding out with a text from my dad in the middle of my work day. By the end of the week, i had rented a car and driven from GA to MD, to be welcomed by icky cold. He didn't look like my grandfather, so I've been having some fun dissociation with that. Of course had to deal with family drama, because what else do you do when the patriarch is dying. My cat scratched my friend's dog so i had to skedaddle back to GA, and my grandfather passed a few hours into my drive home. During all this i had to reschedule a move and move in cleaners. So the next move all that happened. Then my car really hit the fan, which forced me to actually go buy a new car (i was supposed to do this in October..). I realized that i don't have enough leave for all the weddings this spring plus my grandfather's memorial next week. Anyway, fuck January. Happy 2024 that actually started 01Feb. May this year not suck balls

I crushed my exercise goal this month. I did something every day, yoga, hiking, running, mobility, weights, or indoor bike. The plague hit my household but somehow passed me by. Everyone else was miserable for days.

It's great to see your simple plans for the month! I'm new to Makselife and I got the undated monthly to really try and get my life back together when my wife went in the hospital last summer. (She is much better now, but it was touch and go for a while.) I keep thinking I'm not doing "enough" when I plan, but knowing you've worked with this system for a while and seeing just a handful of attainable goals helps me soooo much. I try to do something in each category, even if it's small. I've actually made progress towards a lot of things because of it, so it's working as intended I think? Hehe. So funny about the Hobonichi. I loved it so much in December and used it RELIGIOUSLY, but then January hit and I started using my new bullet journal layouts and... totally forgot about it, except for appointments. I think I'm going to dive into meal planning in the Hobonichi and track my goals there, because it's still a great format! Take care and good luck with all your goals!!! And happy bday, fellow Gen Xillenial!

Finishing up my first month using an actual planner, my SI B6. Enjoying it, kinda just winging it. Will review goals this weekend, did best with reading: 4 books, but that's because I like reading. Exercise is going so-so, better than before now that I have the goals staring at me every day. Like you, I leave room with the weeklies to jot down interesting things that happened, sort of memory keeping and looking back, it's nice to see everything I did in January as I usually don't do much in the winter. Oh and I bought my first fountain pen, a TWSBI Eco F nib and filled it yesterday, so proud of myself! Happy b-day to you and wishing everyone healing from the plague ASAP!

Nice. The Bucket List (for the quarter?) is interesting. I usually see them as a Life thing, but the idea of narrowing it down is something I was thinking about per season. As for the plague, I spent the 2nd half of January with COVID and am still trying to get over the brain fog and fatigue, although I've been negative since the 31st. I'm sorry to hear illness meant you had to cancel a bunch of fun plans.

You can buy fast dry FP inks. There are a few places I get my inks. If you’re not sure about a specific ink, get a sample. A few places I use are Goulet Pens, Goldspot, and Vanness. Just….don’t get lost in the rabbit hole of ink options. It’s a trap!

I love your channel so much lol I'm also doing the Stephen King king challenge and I just finished reading IT (my absolute FAVORITE horror movie - couldnt believe how different the book was from the movie but love both)... If you haven't read it yet, I absolutely 100% suggest listening on audible. Steven Weber is THE BEST narrator I have EVER heard. He makes you feel like you are in the story... I couldnt tell which ones you had finished or not. I have only read like 6-7 of them but I'm im going to work on it more this year. Also - the southerners guide to slaying vampires was a 5 star for me simply because it was so nostalgic to growing up in the 90s... And how to sell a haunted house... Pippin is going to haunt your dreams. It was so good and SO CREEPY!!! I loved it so much. And i absolutely LOVE the wall you put together with album work... When I i finally get a space of my own where i can have sn office -- my dream, for the last 20 years -- is to make a wall collage of all the albums I have given to me by my grandmother and my parents (total hippies - into rock and roll - and completely my vibe). Anyways - hope you're feeling better now and happy belated birthday 🎊🎂

January has gone pretty well. I've done better with daily goals than ever before, the hard part is getting back to it after missing a few days and I've done so much better at that. Weekly has been meh, and monthly 🥴😵‍💫😢 But I'm learning to give myself a break. It's been quite cold for Dallas, but that suits me. Working on Feb goals today. I love your nail polish color. Hope your fistula thing goes well and easy as possible. 😊

Would UN-DO work on the clasp? I moved back to. Bullet journal this year. I have tried sooo many different planners and layouts over the past 10 years from EC, and HP to cleaver fox, hobonichi weeks, printed travelers notebooks and digital. But although I loved everyone at the time of purchase within a few weeks/months my life changed (job, health, needs etc) and it didn’t work for me anymore. I have tons of part used planners. So this year I decided to go back to a BuJo and go the functional route over decorative. I have my monthly layout with my timed appointments and tasks and then do dailies. January i had 9 dailies. Think of all the wasted pages I’d have had if I had used a regular printed planner!

I can't decide if she was having brain fog and couldn't think of the word, or was trying to decide if she should say it or not. Either way, I'm glad she went with that bc it was hilarious

I was wondering if you could make a recommendation for me. I've been using the Tidbits Planner the past few years but they didn't offer it for 2024. I'm looking for something similar to it but my work weeks start on Sunday. I like dated planners, I don't care for planners that you have to write the days and months into. I also like bound planners instead of ringed. I liked Hemlock and Oak but when I contacted them they told me that they didn't offer a Sunday start planner. I don't really care for the Passion Planner or Law of Attraction Planner. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? - Thanks
