Craig I've been in the painting game for a while now and just to let you know for next time you are gonna have to take that hood down to bare metal for it to not keep reacting when you got to repaint it. Tbh I would just wrap it with a gloss black wrap and call it a day.

Sure, but if the paint is peeling you would still see the edges of the peeling paint in the wrap. Also the wrap is temporary and the paint is not, or at least it shouldn't be. For my personal car I wouldn't mind going that route, but for a car that you're trying to sell to someone putting a wrap on it isn't really a solution.

Craig, two points... 1.) there is no way the S6 is 3200 lbs unless you found a way to do 1300 lbs of weight reduction - and judging from what looks to be a complete interior, I would say no. 2.) the scratches on the 06 S4's hood are the least of your worries. The reason you got that car for what you did is that it will need its timing chains and tensioners serviced and that is an engine out job. If you hear a metallic rattle at start up, then that is the engine telling you its time to address the chains and tensioners. In all reality, you would've lost less money if you set $2500 on fire at the beginning of the auction.

I am a small dealer, much smaller than you Craig so maybe Im not the one who should be giving advice. But personally, I dont understand why you invest all this time into cosmetic improvements before a cars major issues are solved. If a car is misfiring, that should be the priority to fix. If its not cost effective to fix that, then it makes no sense to put several days of labour into exterior. If the car is pretty much mechanically totalled and is being sent to auction, having the headlight haze fixed isnt going to really improve how much you get. An audi with major engine issues at auction is going to get very little regardless of exterior condition. I always fix the “unknowns” before I touch anything else. You know doing the body work and paint wont cause issues, so why worry about it first? I always personally like to tackle the most problematic areas first that can make or break a flip

Love that 3000MHz battery though 😆 I reckon the bonnet clear over the earlier repairs was only single pack that is why it was not very durable in the sun. Hi Craig, first of all, I really like this Ferrari flip serie. One thing I keep wondering about is why you don't simply take the headlights out before clearing them up. It will prevent damage on the paint of the car and also makes it easier to get into the corners and edges of the headlight. Seems to me that's more easy than taping up the sides and also gives a better end result. In terms of time it shouldn't make much of a difference with most cars.

You did what you thought was right, and did what you could on a budget. Why not take this car to Audi and see what the repair cost is and what is involved. If it's way to expensive best to stop spending money on it any further, sell it off to a European parts dismantler. If it's fixable, take it to Macco for a quick and dirty panel repair and paint on the panels that need it, that would at least get it close to looking good. Keep up the great content!

When you wet sand and buff them with whatever buffer or compound it does not last you can actually go to a body shop make friends with the painter and slip him the 50 and it'll do your headlights for if you provided you did all the sanding work if he has to send them down you're probably will get anywhere from 100 to 250

VW (Audi) can be so cool looking and all the bells and whistles. Then you check repair cost on average (upwards of $6k if you get into any part of the engine) then the cool factor really wears off quick. I totally would love a S3 or S4, but do not want to give my money to the Audi Stealership in our area. Trust me they already have a nice looking waiting room. Just remember if the waiting room is swanky, then you a paying to sit there with every minute they working on your car. Seriously Audi S6, 3200 lbs. Maybe with no seats and carbon fiber all around. An Audi S6 is more in the 4400 lbs (Wet), which doesn't seem like a lot but 1,200 lbs. makes a huge difference when talking power to weight ratio. Luckily for the S6 you have a 450HP Twin Turbo 4.0 liter V8 mated to a Quatro AWD system. Good for solid 0-60 in 4 seconds flat and the 1/4 mile flies by a 12.5 second. At the dealership, wrinkles on the 2nd row headrest trim on the s8 is such poor quality. Would never accept that for that price point. Surprised they put that on their showroom floor.

Flood coat? Take it to bare metal, DTM or epoxy. Too many nonsense " short cuts" in this business. Just do the shit right.

Car prices are not coming down in the $15k under range, in fact higher then ever. Anything under 75k miles and $15k, that is not a clunker, sells in days. Your previous videos comments must only relate to $30k over....and I don't think it will ever filter down. This weird 2 year shortage , will take years to resolve.

Agree, stupid prices on anything mid 2000's with 125,000 under 7,500-10,000 easy when two years ago 5,000.
