Making it look easy 👍
Interesting that you haven't done much with slabs so far. I've seen some slabs worked in the past on KZread, and you're working it great so far in this video. Pretty stone too. 👍 I like the easy and relaxed way you go about working on the point- steady and consistent, all the way through. You make it easy to watch and learn from. Keep up the great videos brother!

That’s not really a slab… it is a preform or a biface

Yes, but 59 seconds into the video, Jake calls it a "slab" that he's not used to working. So, I'd assume that he worked it down from a slab then?
Thats my favorite rock to knapp for 8 bucks a rock is well worth it.great job.

That this video doesn’t show is me breaking 2 other rocks because of seams on the material😂 but I do love this stuff

I’ve seen a lot of your work. You do a great job!
I like those big Clovis points that were found in an apple orchard in Washington State.I went to a show in Illinois they had plastic reproductions for 85 dollars,I didn't buy any.
Great knapping! I saw you at an Indian artifact show a couple months ago in 2022, bought a Simpson point from you. Thanks for that, I made a knife from it!

Great video. 👍 just got into knapping recently. Specifically coastal plains chert. Your videos have helped for sure. Looking forward to more. 🦅

Thanks! Starting out was pretty tough for me. I just used pressure to shape waste flakes. But eventually I used bigger boppers to reduce larger pieces, that’s when I started figuring out angles / platforms. I’ll have to make more videos with coastal, love the stuff. Is it coastal from Alabama or Georgia?

@@GulfCoastKnapping Its from South Georgia near Albany. Just some flakes and materiel my pops picked up back in the day. Need to order a box from Jeff. Do you attended any of the artifact show?

@@DeepSouthArtifacts I try to attend some, but not all. I’ll be at most of the knap-ins though👍🏼 Jeff has some good rock, he’ll hook you up
I didn't know Clovis people had copper boppers and silicon carbide, that said, very nice work. PS split a branch down the middle, flatten by sanding both sides glue two buttons of wood with pitch to one end of each slat (four total). The buttons hold the base free for fluting. Wrap this around your Clovis with cordage to flute, with the tip pinched flat between the slats. Flute with a large antler bopper or a soft stone. I promise you will like the results.
How long has it taken you to get to your current skill level? Very nice work BTW
