Great review Mark! The honesty is appreciated with regard to the different devices in the family and the lack of USB-C is totally spot on. I think the important thing is that there’s consistent data capture with devices like these since there’s no way any one device is completely perfect yet… however, if I know how I’m progressing after a series of sessions and practice over time then I’d be pretty happy.

Great review! Have you had a chance to try the new ability to measure non-impact swing speeds? With the discount going on now I'm thinking about switching from a PRGR to a Mevo for use with the Stack and range sessions.

Love the look of the mevo

I have had one for a few years now. It's a decent unit for the price point. FYI, It has gone on sale in the past for nearly 30% off.

Obviously a paid promotion, never once gave us a side by side comparison with the Quad. If youre going to review the product, then do it right.

Considering the product is on sale it's pretty decent price, added in the promo code and it reduced it by $17.45. I assume at some point it actually reduced it by the full 15% but surprising it still works and saves a few more dollars.

My local golf range has installed Inrange in every bay, which has been a game changer. The other range closest to me has Trackman in every bay. The world of practice has changed so much. It's only a year or two that I was thinking that I had to have one of these but the use case for this has really diminished if the location that you practice already has monitors.

FYI … The latest firmware update for the basic MEVO does support swing training. I like it when I want to practice without having to setup my net. I’ve had mine for over year and still enjoy it.

@@matthewbennymcgee It works pretty well. I noticed my swing speed increases after warming up for a few minutes. The first few swings are discouraging. It does help with technique too. I noticed a longer backswing (which I find harder to control) increases the swing speed. I do find the full swing session of hitting the balls into my backyard net and hearing the carry distance more rewarding though, but a swing training session is useful too.

If my driving range hits down into a valley from a hill will this give any valid data?

Does this work on golf nets?

Mevo is on my xmas list along with Garmin R10 - but which one should i go for ? Sleepless nights ahead 😂

I think for not too much extra the R10 is worth it, just because it can give you spin axis to show ball flight and left/right dispersion

@@Danny.A665 the r10 has issues with accuracy and consistency I believe, unless they have managed to sort them. I’d have a look into it if you’re thinking of buying one. Rather have accurate data, than one that does more but is off on the numbers.

the Mevo is very accurate , as well there are no annual fees if you want to save money go the FlightScope way

Both are good. My advice would be. If you can save for the Mevo Plus defo get that. If not hard to choose between the two you mention. 👍

No it doesn't. You can adjust the club you're using and the altitude of the shot

It is an old design hence old USB connection. It also has the flaw that I see all too often with budget launch monitors - connecting via wifi there is no excuse for that, it should be bluetooth. I also completely agree with Mark that it should allow you to use it for speed training without the ball I feel this is the perfect "budget" launch monitor for use at your local club practice ground. Maybe, given how old the design is, it is a tad over priced.

How can it measure height, when hitting in a simulator when it's not sensing a ball up in the air? The charging port is called Micro USB, not just USB. It should have USB C instead. There are many different types of USB.

Want it for stack. So its not for me.

biggest piece of shit I have ever bought.mevo are good at stuff.i e taking your money.. .the world all over... my advice.would be save your money.murphys law will strike in the next 12 months...a golf monitor as shit as this for 5 bucks a month on some app

@@MarkCrossfield it wasn't a dig at you or your review... just a shame the mevo peoples customer services dept is none existent , unless you want to upgrade or buy something else...been around the garden hurdling trying to see if i had missed something. ...so just tossed it in the bin....freedom... just checked out your video to see if I had missed a hack....as with alot of these companies they have there dark arts teams to suppress poor either reviews and or issues...I know i sound a conspiracy theorist who wears a hat made of tinfoil...bit yeah today at least... it's a rant haha....i'll get my coat ...ps I do enjoy your content .....

It’s a 6 year old model. USB-C didn’t really become the standard until after the Mevo was designed
