AWESOME! ...as much as I love all the technical review in your videos, ...this was purely entertaining, and I loved it! The P-38 is a favorite, ...and your connection with the closed airport is a wonderful backstory. I have similar fond memories from the long-gone Gunn Airfield in Lithonia GA where I grew up. Took my first airplane ride there with my dad. And, Stone Mountain Airport, ...now closed following the '96 Olympics. I upgraded from the C-152 to the 172 at Stone Mountain and rented there often. Hate to see these quaint, small fields shut down. Absolutely loved this video, Adam! Thanks, my friend!

Super video Adam. Thanks for sharing that!! Absolutely love the way you can see those shiny spinners going around. And also how the dash becomes more visible when the plane is traveling away from the sun. The resolution and clarity are superb with that camera and not having plastic in the way to make it hazy was a great idea. The music fits the plane too. Thanks Again for posting this. Goes without saying that now I want a camera.. ;)

@@ModelAV8RChannel ANYBODY will enjoy that video, conveys the real feel and beauty and wonder of full scale flight, which is I suppose why we all love RC Airplane flying, because we'd all have full scale birds if we could, but the views we RC Pilots get from our Action Cameras or FPV Cams on our model aircraft, is the same as full scale (but lower)! 🛩️❤️😀

There is so much good I can say about this video. I have the P-38 and have long since lost track of the number of flights I have on it. This was an excellent choice for what you did and how. The music was a nice layover and reminded me of a score from Two steps from hell which only does this type of music. Beautiful location and flying. Excellent Adam.

That was very nicely done. It would be nice to think an RC club could use that field as a base. A trick I was shown to reduce wind noise was put a band aid over the pin hole mike. Making sure the cloth bit is loosely over the hole. You have to trim them down. You may call them plasters. Works a treat on my motorcycles and RC planes in cutting out only wind noise. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

@@ModelAV8RChannel Adam, if you google P38 National Association and Museum you will see where the replica I saw is housed. I did not realize it was a replica until I read their website today. I have seen it a few times in the last 15 or so years and didn't realize it. The P38 Museum is at, but not part of March Airbase Museum. They had an SR71 Blackbird inside but ropped off for a while at March... the nose and a wing tip hung out over the ropes and you could rub your hands on it and feel it as you walked by... it was so cool. I enjoyed that Adam, with the prop arcs either side in the sun, very nice. Shame to see an airfield falling to bits, it must be a bit upsetting? I know what you mean about wind noise, here's an idea I've been meaning to try, taping over the mic to reduce wind noise but sound would still get through 👍

Hey Cliff thanks my friend! It is tough to see the old Skyport fade away for sure. Used to be such a cool little airport. That is a good idea...another chap suggested using the cloth part of a band aid to cover the mic...same result intended. I'm wondering if you wouldn't still have to dub in music...I don't know that the wind sound would be suppressed enough not to. Its easy to turn it down with editing. Like you I still plan to try it and see what we get!

And your review on the Arrows Husky got me off the fence and I am eagerly awaiting delivery of the Ultimate version. 😎 As for the FPV flight of the P-38, I loved it! These types of flights can be boring, but this was excellent! Great editing and crystal clear footage. The best of all worlds video would be a mix of this with some on-ground footage, but I know this would be a lot more editing. But keep these coming. Great job! I hope to own a P-38 sometime soon. It is one of my all-time favorite warbirds! Nothing else looks like it. What are your pros and cons on this Flightline model? Thanks and Regards, Matt

    2 жыл бұрын

Hello Matt...thanks so much for your support of the channel! We really appreciate it! Glad you like it and i think you will LOVE your Husky! I actually flew the P-38 line of sight and just recorded with the Runcam 2. We plan to use it more at some point, and a mixture of both is a great idea. The Flightline P-38 is a really good plane...not for a novice, but a very good flying Warbird. A bit of patience is required for assembly...lot of wiring. It does require a mixture of power and elevator during the flare to land well...not a power off lander although that could technically be done...it would require a steep decent angle. Making sure the ESC's are calibrated together so the motors run in sync is a must. I would say anyone with some full featured Warbird experience (the added weight of flaps, retracts, etc) can fly it just fine. It is much easier to take off and land than any taildragger with the tricycle gear and counter rotating props to nullify torque. If you are a P-38 fan this is the foam one to have. Hope this helps Matt! If you have any more questions let me know. Happy flying, and again...thanks so much for your support of our channel!
