the convenient thing is that my family and I moved to Märsta 'cause then they would both be close to their workplace (which is of course, inside the Airport) The difference being that dad's an (retired years ago) Airliner Mechanic, while mom's a... I don't remember the name, but it was the one that the passenger register/"deposits" their luggage, to be loaded onto the plane.

As far as I understand it (and I did some quick Googling to confirm) PAPI lights don't focus on an aircraft - they should be usable no matter if there's a plane in front of you or not. They worked based on a set of static lenses which make them appear either red or white light depending on your angle relative to them, and they're set at the specific angles from the runway surface so that they guide you in on the right glide slope. Unless they've been implemented wrong in the game, they should *always* be reliable to get you lined up on that glide slope.
