The 80’s was a decade of real positivity. It showed in the colours, the musical experimentation, and the general economic growth. It was a major step into the new world, with the tearing down of the Berlin wall, signalling the death of communism in Eastern Europe.
Lots of musicians cite the Yamaha DX-7 synth, and the introduction of MIDI in 1983, as the destruction of music in the 80s, saying that it made the music sound thin, and too similar between different artists. This may well have been true for the latter parts of the decade, but we found that the wealth of music between 1982 and 1984 was almost too much, and we had to exclude many songs we loved. We think this is due to the introduction of newer electronic synths, and there being a magical time of experimentation between the old and the new.
Dance music and raves really took a foothold as the 90’s grew nearer, and we found that consistency in memorable albums began to fade, leading to early signs of a ‘singles’ and ‘one-hit-wonder’ based industry. This was when we were born.

They showed us a sneak peak of the 60s decade mix, and as for the 10s - we've gotta wait 2 more years!
I drywalled an entire bedroom listening to this and I felt like I was having the time of my life. And I hate doing drywall! Great mix!!!

My first thought for next year 72 to 02 mega mix. Saves me spending half my day pondering on tunes to keep people dancing from all ages 😛

Im 36. This mix starts with songs I know but couldn't place a time cuz I would have been like 2(ish). Then slowly songs start and im like HELL YEH!! Memories start to flood back! Crazy, tiny, exact little details I had not thought about in 20 odd years at least! A little me kicking about playing, being a kid! :D A more innocent time indeed lol. By the end of this im hooked and on to next decade. A more ambiguous time :P then next, innocence truly lost... I fucking laughed so much. I cried buckets! Fully locked into a very therapeutic memory fest! The BEST fucking compilation of mixes I have heard in ages! I HIGHLY recommend!

Heard this at a climbing gym today and was loving every bit of it, what a great mix. I only wished it had Depeche Mode Enjoy the Silence in there just because it's another personal fave but awesome.
Many good memories, great set, thanks for making me feel life again.
I wish there were more decades just so Flight Facilities could do more Decade Mixes!
