Great review! I always generally fly Emirates from JFK to Dubai to India. This summer I plan to try out Etihad which I never did before. Emirates is a great airline and I hope you try it out one day as you mentioned at 10:13. I am basically the opposite of you lol.. I flew Emirates, but not Etihad yet. You flew Etihad, but not Emirates yet.

Great report are those persons beside you are your parents ? The food was marvelous you got to fly emirates first class you will feel like a king cheers from jerry

When the plane is not full on Etihad, they remove 1 or 2 rows of seats from the front of the cabin making room for more space on rows behind it. When i select my seat after a booking i always book the seat right behind the 'Economy space' section because those are the first seats that turn into economy space if the flight is not full.

What do you mean by economy space section?

I went on this route on the Airbus A350-1000, it’s very comfortable and it’s quieter! Than the 787

Why when landing, I see several aircraft parked at the taxiway?

Sorry, newb question. Etihad's Economy Space. What happens to unsold seats? What happens if they sell out the entire plane, but not enough people are willing to buy the Economy Space seats? Can it happen that some folks get those "expensive" seats for free? Or do the last people to book have to pay a higher fare and they get the Economy Space seats included with their higher fare? That seems like the fair way to go.

Hi SLC Flyer. Your review on Economy space seating arrangements has been quite informative. I am taking up EY100 to JFK next month. I have never travelled to US via middle East earlier, mainly to avoid 12 to 13 hours long haul flying. You being a tall guy, rated the flight from JFK to AUH comfortable. Is it so as Etihad economy space seats have 5" longer pitch (36") than economy standard seats (31")? Are economy space seats also wider than Economy standard seats? May please share.....Thanks

Thank you for watching! The only difference between economy space and regular economy is the legroom as you mentioned. Everything else is the same which includes seat width, headrest, IFE, cabin service, etc.. I hope that answered your question :)

nice review! Etihad charged USD$ 42 for pick window seat from JFK-AUH, USD$ 24 for AUH -BKK where Emirates are free, not sure about Qatari !

Yeah I really don’t like that they charge for seat selection when their airfares are already very high as they are. I got lucky and was given a window seat.

Wellness kit, headphones, sleeping kit etc are free to take home or allowed only on board?

Yes those are all allowed to take home with you!

Etihads LIVERY is one of the best in the world. Cabin crews Corona outfit is unnecessary, as it is not going to make any differnce.

Yeah these middle eastern airlines tend to show off too much and its next to annoying.

Etihad seat selection are a rip off. 180 bucks for economy space and 10 bucks for normal cramped economy seats but meanwhile emirates offers free economy seat selection once check in starts

I agree, there’s no need to charge for seat selection when the ticket prices are already high enough as they are.
