Man, I remember the clean downs they did decades ago. They would hold u ar the gate just so the plane could be thoroughly cleaned.

Why don't they clean the bathroom? I feel there's a gap in the market for that. Whilst the 'cleaners' 'clean' the plane, other cleaners could deap clean the bathroom, it's such a tiny room!!

As much as a ticket costs it should get cleaned!!!!!!

Paying an avg of $300 per flight with let’s just say 100 passengers is ~ $30,000 revenue. People deserve a, at minimum surface, cleaned plane…what the hell?

Well, it cost an Airline roughly $10,000 per hour of flight for the newer planes. It cost $33 per passenger per flight hour. The more people the cheaper though because the numbers divide more. It's $4,000 per 120 passengers. So based on your estimates $300 ticket would probs be a 5hr flight 4,000 x 5 is $20,000 leaving the airline with a $10,000 revenue

Revenue and profit are very much different things… so subtract the airlines costs from that number and you’d be correct lol

I have gone to Spain every year of my life for 17 years and I have never once been given something to clean with when I step on the flight

I used to work at the Orlando International Airport. I used to talk to the cleaning crew. They told me they have like 5 mins to clean the plane as they have to run to clean the next one. So they don't clean much. They just make it 'look' clean

I’ve never been offered a wipe. And the amount of money I pay to fly, at least clean the damn bathroom. Airlines have diminished their customer service. Something has to give!

The window cleaning is something I’ve never thought of, until you mentioned it!!! Now that I’m thinking about it, oh my, it must be covered in active germs…. and things! I’m going to pack some sanitizer and sanitizing wipes…I’m glad you guys offer them, but I’m make sure I’m safe rather than sorry.

And this is why I use the bathroom BEFORE the flight, drink and eat very little.

Airlines should be held accountable and fined

When I was taking a Dreamliner to South Korea, I had to use the restroom. As I stepped into the restroom, my shoes were sticking into the floor and it sounded like I was removing a piece of tape with each step.

Life tip #1: become rich enough to have your own private jet

I deep clean my own seat even if I think they already do it lol. I clean the whole seat with wipes, the seat belt, the window, the arm rest, head rest, around the window, the tray table, the tv screen, even the back of the chair in front of me. 🤷🏽

With the amount of money you pay for a ticket, they can CERTAINLY afford to pay people to clean the damn plane.

I flew with Jet2 last summer, we had to stay on the plane for assistance and I can tell you they don’t have cleaning staff, it’s just the cabin crew and they have a strict turnaround time to clean up.

Do not get tea or coffee that requires water from the plane's tanks. Only can or bottle stuff. Because those tanks are never cleaned.

Fun fact: if you ever fell like ur going to throw up, ask a attendant for one of those wipes then smell it it will help because the liquid in it helps with sea sickness and stuff like that

I'm a frequent flyer, and roughly every third flight I'd catch a bug and be sick for days afterwards.

She's right about cleaning, most of the time on regional flights cleaners just set the belts and take out the trash, nothing else

On my flight the bathrooms flush was a whole Jumpscare it literally sounded like someone’s soul came out of their body

Speaking of the cleaners during Covid.. There was a device that they were taught to use. kinda a chem steamer with UV light... but the issue is that they were not used... ever

im getting flashbacks to the time I threw up all over the bathroom floor in a plane and they had to close the bathroom 😭

With the high price of the tickets, they should at least do a good cleaning, before we get on the plane.

I worked at SFO cleaning aircrafts and afterwards as a dispatcher for United. During peak summer season you have over 100 flights in your 8hr shift and they all come in at the same time one after another nonstop. There is no time to do a detail cleaning. Depending on the aircraft size and destination, the smallest aircrafts Embraer 175’s 3 minutes on and off airbuses 8-10 min, Dreamliners 15-30 min, 777’s 30-50 min sometimes even less. This included cleaning and full provisioning (removing previous flights dirty duvets, pillowcases, amenities and trash fully re supply the outbound flight is not an easy, especially if there’s only a team of around 6-8 cabin cleaners.) It’s not the Cabin cleaners fault it’s the operation.. no one in the operation wants a delay to fall on them.. airline(pilots, flight attendants, ramp agents, gate agents) vendors (catering, cleaners) depending on destination the cost per 1min international delays started at $1,200.00 back in 2019 idk now.

West wipes leave surface residue. On clear windows, these become pretty obvious after wiping.

When I was 12 I was sick and on my period on a flight from Australia to Dubai. I bled a LOT, through my pad, jeans, and into the seat. It had an enormous puddle. I just put a blanket over the seat and left. I felt so bad after

So… just choose an airline that actually cares about cleanliness… GOT IT! 👍

I didn’t know wipes was offered when boarding a flight. Flown delta several times and Air France, was never offered a sani-wipe. Just a friendly Hello and a snack.

Yeah I can attest to that clean job... and to be honest it's a time thing. 98% of the turn arounds have to be done in 30 min. The cleaning crew consists of 5 people and they have to dump the lav while cleaning up the cabin and 4 other flights on deck. (Well that was when I was working at DEN)

That's one of the reasons I take my seat cover when I fly. That seat is home to hundreds of peoples dry ass sweat. I ain't sitting on that. Did that once, never again.

That's disturbing. But I totally believe the bathrooms hardly get cleaned. Flight attendants aren't responsible for cleaning them. If a plane has been on multiple flights in a day, the cleaners probably don't get in there all day.

I wear socks and comfortable quality sandals on flights. That way I get the best of both worlds. Can move my toes but keep my feet safe!

Totally believe all of this. I have a compromised immune system and every flight I've taken, I've ended up sick after. Not only is everything not so clean on an airplane, there are so many sick passengers and crew on each flight. 😔

Helpful hint: DON'T FLY!!! Drive yer car instead.
