You know what’s best for yourself. We don’t hear that a lot, but it’s so true. Sometimes decisions aren’t made well because of outside influences and having the need to please or conform to certain standards. But when the circumstances allow, one should make his/her own decisions and be responsible for himself/herself. Fletcher is so well-spoken and is representing for everyone with her platform. So happy for her success. Go Fletcher!😃😍

simon didnt call her boring he called the performance boring cuz it was a very lowkey song and she was a bit shy so didnt show too much personality. Also didnt have much stage presence. Which would make the audition not very memorable. Its important to separate the artist from the performance. Now you're a great performer and definitely not boring.

Case and point of only remembering the negative comments, like she said about Twitter. Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul loved her audition and called her talented. L.A. Reid said she had a star’s name, face, and voice. Yet, here she is, remembering how Simon called her indistinctive.

I just heard about Fletcher last week through random song play so I can't say I know much about her but I really like her voice and lyrics. That being said, I'm not a big fan of Simon Cowell and strongly feel his opinion is not always the best one and his pompous attitude doesn't help the way I trust his feedbacks. I'm happy she wasn't deterred from him. Looking forward to hearing more from her.

Simon Cowell was way too harsh & mean back then, he always made me too uncomfortable watching him just absolutely tear people down. No reason for that EVER, people like that are supreme assholes. He appears to have changed, I know his fellow female judges wouldn't stand for it now. Sorry his evil ways involved you, Fletch, but who fills venues with their artistry...YOU DO GIRL! YOU DO!!! Keep on keeping on & thanks for being a voice for LGBT. 🏳️‍🌈👭😎♀️🎆✌💜🌈

Write whatever you want to write and don't be scared to use pronouns. I mean, how many homosexuals your age are Nsync fans growing up? I don't know the exact numbers but Hayley Kiyoko is one of them and Nsync's use of "he" or "him" didn't stop her from relating to their songs. If somebody would stop themselves from listening to your song simply because they're so offended with the pronouns that you have used to describe yourself and your experience? then they can move on because they clearly don't know how to appreciate good music.

I agree with you but also think its cool that she's doing that. I wouldn't have noticed it or thought about it unless I'd seen this interview, but now I really pay attention to it. People have said she isn't representing the community enough but I think that this is an awesome choice she's making and a lot of people will appreciate it.

  • @island-life

@@marcrecord3991 The majority of the population doesn't want to be called a "THEY". The majority of the population uses "SHE" for females and "HE" for males. If you're a singer who is trying to sell your songs, you shouldn't limit yourself to the 1% of people in your country who wants to be called a "THEY". Do you get what I'm saying? so screw those people who are saying that she doesn't represent the community! it's so funny to me that our so called community fights for so much equality and freedom but a lot of the people in this same community nowadays would easily get offended if somebody doesn't conform to their PERSONAL BELIEFS. Why should the preferences and opinions and needs of the "THEY" group of people outweigh the "NON-THEY" group of people? it doesn't make sense.

@@marcrecord3991 And she uses "she" and "her" as far as I know. But lately, she wants to hold herself back because she thinks that she is not being accommodating to other people which I found very inconsiderate for those other people to ever think that way. Nobody should ever tell her to change her writing style.

Trendy is the completely wrong word. Artists are comfortably out because media is finally giving them a chance to be authentic in the industry. There NEEDS to be minority representation in this industry. Fletcher is part of a generational change. Appreciate that.
