I was drunk about 30 seconds in
Love the engineer POV. Would love to see more of that.
Awesome episode. Dave was a fantastic host for this Fleet Friday. Was touching hearing his story about his late Captain and the relationship he was with E33. I also really enjoyed the “helmet” cam footage of that response at the start, I think that should be something you guys do more often. Great video South Metro!
33s is our neighborhood firehouse...great video. Love the patch on the shirt...looks great.
Hope this rig sticks around for awhile. Love the old school rotators, just a really cool truck over all.
I would love to see more responding videos like at the beginning! It was awesome to watch! Maybe a new series 🤷♂️ great video cant wait to watch more!
I have a husband that is a firefighter. I'm so proud of him. Serving and saving lives every single day.
This was very informative and he explains things so well! Also a nice fun fact that he started out on this exact engine and now 10 years later he's driving it!
I absolutly love watching these old engines!
damn, this is above and beyond for a Reserve engine. color me impressed!

Thank you!
Very informative video. Excellent job explaining things in a professional manner. Thank you for your time. Thanks for your time you use to help people.
Great video. He explained things so well and how it was different from the rig that they use now as compared to back then. Nice job, very well done
My favorite part was the footage responding to the scene starting @1:50 !! More of that please + on scene helmet cam footage! Love the content! Thanks!
Sweet truck, defiantly a cram for space. Shows how nice these new rigs really are.

It makes them appreciative
My first rig I rode on was a 1961 American LaFrance, with a straight drive, had to watch your fingers when shifting towards the dash otherwise they would get smashed. Best rig to take a driving test on.
You cant beat the old lights the new ones are amazing and all that but the old ones the way they look is amazing especially onscene
i love this video
Make your presence known; take command of the street. 👍🏻👍🏻🤙😎✌
Finally my favourite SMFR rig im so happy rn
Now that a beautiful light setup
Hello, I went to station 34 a couple years ago and I saw the 33 and reminded me of 34
I love it
That reserve engine is a beast!
Best feature on this rig is the old school FedSig AeroDynic. Best feature of this video is the shout out to Freeman. Salty dogs never fully die; they simply seed their crust on the young pups.
Beautiful reserve engine
Well done!!
Old e ones are nice especially with the 60 series Detroit we still have some left but sadly are gone
Nice, liked and shared 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
interesting to see reserve rigs
i´m currently riding on a 1999 Cyclon II Engine at a military base here in Germany, Some small differences on our pumper to be compatible to the german hydrants and local national fire departments for municipal aid. To be honest ours is a bit more worn out since it is in frontline service for more than 20 years now.
Need a reserve fleet Friday
The Captain I believe he said has a glorious mustache!
Wow tech engine. Love it.
Captain has a great moustache 😀

What equipment (if any) is stored on the reserve and what needs to be transferred from the front line?
4:27 found the same captain from the bailout training
Great video! Can you do the 07 pierce truck next?!
Fleet friday on a spare arial ladder?
We are looking to get some numbers made for our apparatus like the ones you use on the reserve engines. Where do you get them or what are they called? TIA
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO

They're homemade by SMFR Fleet. Montgomery County, MD has a cool variation on their reserve apparatus with flip up numbers.

what is the oldest reserve ambulance?
I wish I lived closer I would definitely apply
pre-emissions apparatus is the best thing. Less issues for sure

The reserve Ladder and a reserve Sutphen Tower are on our list!
Do those number plates slide in and out?
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO

Yes, every station has number plates they can slide in when they're using a reserve apparatus.
What happens if an apparatus is out of service and all of the reserves are in use?

They probably pull the rig out of service and move the staff from that rig to other rigs. But honestly that would be very rare. In our department in CA, they keep a handful of fully equipped rigs that can be up staffed during a major emergency. Also, it is likely they could borrow a rig from Denver or a neighboring department.
@ethandunlop7395

They would use a one of the training Engines if anything before asking a department to borrow a rig.
@marylandemergencyresponses

Borrow one ☝️ from somewhere but pretty sure they have enough spares

@@ethandunlop7395 I think the training rigs are looped into the reserve rig category. But this would be so rare

I just realized Connor has been missing where did she go
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO
Жыл бұрын
Connor was promoted to a new position called Executive Communications Manager. In that role her focus is on internal communications but sometimes she still covers as an on-call PIO.
And I was correct station 33 does have a medic
E-One is a great manufacturer. A lot of departments are either going too or going back to E-One! Maybe South Metro will order some new E-Ones! But I’m sure Pierce will be the main manufacturer that South Metro will stay with!
Well hellooooo there Dave 😍
If the reserve is called Engine 33 and it’s at station 33, then what’s the call sign for the frontline engine?
@marylandemergencyresponses

Same engine 33
Awesome!! Can you do a video on Operation chiefs/ special Ops!!
41 or 42 times he said it.
Technology is only as good as the person who built it and the person who operates it. Behind everything are people. That is why it is good when there are people who help others. It does not necessarily have to be in the fire department, any help to the next is good and needed.
What’s wrong with engine33?
