The last baby fledges----after a lot of coaching by mom and dad and overcoming much fear and uncertainty. It appears that fear of the unknown is a powerful and universal instinct. The old saying "--testing your wings" and all that it implies is well founded. After all its hard work getting ready to jump, the first flight was short and to the ground. As you would expect, mom and dad then feed it on the ground----another lesson.
