What always boils my temper is when they say “she just wants to make money” or “she just wants to show a profit”. Ummm isn’t that the goal of everyone and every business???

I think they are saying they want to sell their things to people who can not afford to buy it new. They assume they are helping someone out with the cheap handy downs rather than providing a business with goods to resell. It’s just their perspective.

The look on her face was probably priceless 🤣 😂 😆 She just needed to know that she was heard ! 😆 🤣 😂 good for you!!

Dave, I used to be non confrontational and then I said to myself “I was bullied as a kid, I ain’t getting bullied or talked sh*t of as an adult” I would have tore her a new one up and down. I see these kinds of vendors at my flea market and they just don’t get any sales from me, even if they have something that looks good. I don’t know why some of these people sell , I can’t see them making much money and it’s probably why they are bitter back passages aka a holes!

They should have kept the comment to themselves and not in front of the customer. To be honest though, she is not incorrect. NC Picker is hoping people are not knowledgeable on what they have so he can make a come up of these people's ignorance. Completely wrong way to air their grievances in front of the customer as well as poor choice of words!

The best thing to do is not allow anyone to try to define your character. For people to assume you’re a ‘wimp’ for not going off on her are idiots. You handled her very well. Very professional and very calm cool and collected. Hats off to you sir. Vengeance is a dish best served cold.

You said the right amount. For all we know these people do deal with rude customers and sometimes that carries over. I try to keep that in mind. It was the appropriate amount of push back not knowing more about the other person on the other side. Good stuff

I used to buy CD’s from this guy at his store till I found out he had a machine that sealed them to sell as new. Beware. 😩

@@gottogoalltheway In my opinion, for both sellers and companies, what a customer does once the product is in their possession should no longer be of the seller's concern. Whether the consumer gifts it, resells it or keeps it, or whatevers it, it is their property to do with as they please. If someone is going to be picky about what a customer is going to do with a product after it is purchased then maybe they shouldn't be selling.

You took the "high road" and that was admirable.

Sometimes when I pick something up that I may want, I hold it for a few minutes and in a lot of cases the seller will say, "I can do better on the price." Or I will say, "Is that your best price? Never say "I'll give you, so much." Of course, it depends on your tone or attitude. But if something is a good price to begin with, I just buy it. I don't mess around trying to get it cheaper. There's two sides, the seller and the buyer. The buyer usually wants it as cheap as they can get it, and the seller wants the best they can get. Can't blame either one.

The thing about those people is they are resellers themselves and they want as cheap a price as they can get also. I'm sure when they go source items they ask, "What's the best you can do on that?" or something like that.

Dave don't lower yourself to their level. I've asked many times about a price break and been told no. I say thank you and either purchase or walk away. Flea Marketers have to expect bargaining. I recently purchased an item on eBay. When I received the package it came from a company I don't do business with. The seller was nice and would have accepted a return even though she routinely doesn't but I would have had to return so I'm keeping. I learned a lesson that in future if item could come from this company I'll ask the seller before purchase. she's getting deals on items to resell and I respect her for doing business. Gave a very positive feedback.

I recently sold toys at a toy show twice and at least 80% of the customers made an offer under the asking price. I was happy because they were interested. A few offers and counteroffers, and they were leaving with a toy, and I wasn't paying eBay 15% and shipping items. The majority of the toy sellers negotiated. There were probably a few that didn't, but they packed up the majority of what they came with.

Jerk store - lol - I'm always amazed at how miserable some flea market dealers are - If you are offended by people trying to negotiate you are in the wrong business/hobby. Your negotiations area always fair and pleasant - I wouldn't let that woman's comments bother you.

Picker, I find that when I go to yard sales and flea markets, I let sellers know up front I buy to resell in my yard sale. 1. that tells the sellers you are a qualified buyer 2. That gives the seller heads up the opportunity to give you bundle pricing if the seller is motivated seller to unload.

OMG I do the same. I go home and 5 hours later I'm thinking of come backs just in case it happens to me again lol. I always think it's ok to ask, the worse that can happen is someone say no. People don't need to get offended, just say no thank you.

People always try to get a good deal ; it’s part of the buy and sell at yard sales etc. I like the interaction with people. If someone picks it quick my price is too low.

Not worth ruining your day over some random Karen - seriously not worth spending any of your good and positive energy over some angry person who has nothing better to do but put their noses in the business of others. It was his table, he gave a price, you said thanks. Don’t change who you are, you are like my calming therapy. I don’t go to flea markets or buy/sell stuff, but watching you is fun and your manner is so calming!

As a seller at flea markets, I price everything to detract resellers. I even throw out a close to eBay price to get rid of them... but to the average Joe, I give'em a huge discount.

I don't go to flea markets, but I always figure that the sellers price to leave a wiggle room to barter. You were polite. Some people just gripe about everything. In the end that type of attitude drives buyers away.

I wonder if they can honestly say they’ve never asked anyone for a lower price. Including waiting for sales at stores or using coupons. I also am a wimp and don’t like confrontation. You were within your rights as a flea market customer IMO.
