He was an office worker when he sang that song. He participated in auditions from Busan to Seoul for hours. Have you ever imagined? If he hadn't come out of the world, his songs would have been heard by his co-workers at karaoke. That's why it's hard to predict which way life will go.

Before he joined the programme which formed Forestella, he'd had no formal vocal trainng. He was a Research Chemist who sang in a Rock band in his spare time. 😲 For me, this is even more impressive than Dimash, BECAUSE of the lack of vocal training. Just pure natural talent.

He's the only member that was never vocally trained. He was a chemical engineer and sang in a rock band as a hobby. You can tell his rock influence in the Bohemian Rhapsody.

Thank you for sharing your forestella journey with us! Thanks to you I feel like I'm discovering them for the first time again. Interesting that you said he belongs on stage, I perfectly agree and I think it's even more amazing considering he was an ordinary office worker (he did chemical engineering at a good company) before joining the audition program that saw the creation of forestella. He had no vocal training at all, only his love for singing and his experience in an amateur rock band at university. He joined a program full of experienced opera singers and popular musical actors and stood out for his outstanding range and vocal abilities. He kept growing with forestella and now I can only rejoice that everything aligned perfectly to keep him working as a singer. I can't believe we almost lost such a talent to chemical engineering!

Pues aquí donde lo ves, no tenía formación musical cuando se presentó al programa, él trabajaba como investigador químico, aunque su pasión era y es la música y cantaba con su grupo Pitta. Cuando se presentó al concurso lo hizo pensando que era su última oportunidad y fue muy humilde al comprobar el nivel del resto. Solo tuvo que cantar una vez para dejar a todos allí boquiabiertos y rendidos a su inmenso talento. Hechos son hechos y he aquí la prueba.

I still can't believe he was an ordinary company worker just about 4 or 5 years ago who had never let his dream go and finally he made it as a professional singer. kang hyungho is a freak of nature! he was born to perform! while a lot of people like another countertenor, dimash, hyungho is my man! he has a much more pleasing sound (there's such a thing as too high and dimash goes shrieky!) and far more compelling stage presence. while he's more demure as part of forestella, when hyungho is doing a solo stage he radiates those performer vibes!

Thank you for your reaction to PITTA! Among all the 4 members, he's the only one who had no musical training. In fact, when he applied to the "Phantom Singer 2", he couldn't even read the musical characters. Besides, he was working as a research chemist at one of the biggest companies in Korea. So, when the FORESTELLA plays in the semi-finals, he had to be hospitalized for a few hours, right before the "Live Performance", cuz he had been burnt out for doing the both preparing the audition and working as a chemist for 6 long months. But, he(FORESTELLA) had won at the audition program! Considering his voice range, perforct pitch and all other singing skills, I think he's a genius. 😆Thanks again for your reaction to FORESTELLA. Once you listen to their songs, there's no way out! 😜

I think he is a born singer. He has a amazing vocal range. I heard he is a shy guy, but he becomes a different person when he sings like two. Male? Female? How can switch so fast? Unbelievable!

Pitta is one of the most talented singers I have ever heard. “Phantom” is brilliant. Your reaction is dead on. He is a natural performer. Caught in the power of the music, the thrill of performing for an audience, and sheer love for his art shines through every performance. I feel like we see a little of his soul whenever he sings. His body movements are also important. Watch how he moves his arms and whole body toward the end of this piece. When he performs the Nation or Universe or No Time To Die (riveting) it is the same. His hand movements are speaking for him as he sings. His body language is equally powerful. As you said, he is a true performer. This guy is the real deal with such charisma, power, & talent. In Korean, the surname is first - Kang in this case. His first name in Hyung Ho. He had a rock band in college named Pitta. He always wanted to be a "rock star" but was a chemical engineer when he was found by Forestella. Today he has a rock band named Pitta! He is currently 34 years old (35 Korean).

Kang did a brilliant job here. Like Marcelito Pomoy or Dimash he doesn't need a duet partner to sing a male and female part. As solo artist he released his own album called "ID: PITTA". When I first saw his rendition of phantom of the opera it blew my mind. I like the craziness he added at the end. By the way, the background vocals are from other Forestella members. They support each other even when they perform solo. As next Forestella song I recommend "Inner Universe" (the version with "Phantom Singer All Stars" in the title). "Inner Universe" is the opening theme song of the Japanese animated sci-fi series "Ghost in the Shell". This performance is nuts.

Hi, I'm your Korean subscriber, and I really like your videos. Kang Hyung-ho is a born singer with a strong falsetto and baritone voice. The Phantom of the Opera was the first song he sang at an audition as a researcher (his previous job) before debut. At that time, the soprano was much lighter and softer, and this version is much more dramatic, taking advantage of the rock elements. As your huge fan, I recommend "the inner Universe" for open concert version of Forestella. The harmony of the high and low notes of the bass and soprano is truly amazing. I highly recommend it. I'm really looking forward to your next Forestella reaction. Thank you!

I admire him because with passion and perseverance he menaged to achieve the fame he deserves, even without an academic training in music (I read he wanted to study music, but his parents were against it. So he became a chemist). Please react to Pitta’s songs “Persona” or “The Nation” and to the great performance of “Balada para un loco” of Forestella’s Cho Min-gyu (very theatrical and touching, sung in an almost perfect Spanish. Manages to make you feel the Argentinian spirit of the song). I hope I’ve made myself clear; my English is terrible.
