At least Flats isn't skimping on his car maintenance. Loads of drivers drive their brand new cars for tens of thousands of miles without even thinking about an oil change. Spending to much money on cars is bad, spending to much money and THEN not even caring about your expensive car is even worse.

  • @kernoleary1394

no hubcentric ring possible like said before, lugs not tightened down properly, alignment issues is possible (although unlikely on a new truck) , not balancing the wheels properly. The dude wasnt trying to give flats some BS he was just discussing some possible reasons it could happen. It's extremely unlikely theres anything wrong with the actual suspension of the vehicle. Also wheels being "too big" wouldnt cause this issue although it might effect the speed sensors throwing an ABS light and making the speedometer read slower than the vehicle is actually going

ok so two things: 1. My grandpa was a car salesman. One thing my dad told me about is that my grandpa would say he was going to ask the manager something and then use the bathroom, and other things like that. So when that guy "spoke to a technician" he was 100% taking a coffee break or something. 2. My dad was looking at buying a used miata last year, and he found one that was perfect. When we went to buy it, the dealership way undershot the value of his trade in (which was a dark blue v8 2016 camero, btw) and upcharged him for the miata because it needed, and I quote, "window tint certification," among other crap like that. Needless to say he didn't buy from them. I hate dealerships too, flats, and this was very therapeutic😂

We went to look at vans (multiple kids, no car loan at the time). This was in summer; we were going to wait until new models were out and get a deal. First place was great, understood we were just looking, but they offered lifetime powertrain warranty on all sold products. We then went down the street to test drive at another dealership. Their manager got involved (again, we were VERY clear we were not buying then), and we told him what the deal the first dealership offered. They got close to it, and they gave us a paper. We took it back on a lark to the first place, and they knocked a good bit off of their first offer and gave us an additional 5 years bumper-to-bumper. So, we have a van. Strangest day ever.

Not quite the same but I used to work for Ford customer support doing airbag recalls. This is so on brand for dealerships. Not a single person knows what the hell they are doing or saying I'd call a dealer telling them a customer needs a recall completed and the dealer would say "oh well did you order the parts?". I'd say "no that's your job" "Oh well I can't do it without the parts' "So order them" "What's the recall" *Gives them number* "Oh we have those parts I can schedule the appointment" Me: ok I'll conference in the customer to find a date Customer: does this date work? Dealer: well I don't have the parts so we'll call you back when we get them. Me: you just said you had them Dealer: no we gotta order them specifically for the vin number of the car Me: no you don't it's literally a readily available part This would go on and on some literally taking an hour for what should be a 10 minute call max.

The guy should have been more clear on the wiper blades for sure, but in his defense some people are REALLY crazy about those types of things. I worked in the service industry for years, and you have to be ABSOLUTELY clear when dealing with multiple line items and multiple discounts/deals. I can't count how many times someone would walk in with MULTIPLE coupons or whatever, we'd tell them "Hey, you can't use more than 1" or whatever the issue might be, and they'd say the understand, and then come back freaking out because they didn't get the deal. We'd like, ask them WHICH coupon they want to use. They'd decide, and then GIVE THEM the other one back. And they'd still freak out.

wow flats' mom is an absolute beast... My parents are damn good at bargaining like that, but in a less pushy way. Recently they had to get a new minivan, so they went in asking for a ridiculously low price (like $15k on a $27k van), got it down to like $21k, then just walked. They were just like "nah we cant do that". they were legit driving out of the parking lot when the guy comes sprinting out and is like "WAIT WAIT WE'LL DO $18k". absolutely rolled. they got a barely used nice ass 2017 Kia Sedona in 2018 for f****** $18k. how.

So I'm a service advisor as well ( same job as the dude you talked to ) I understand the dude apprehension about the price. $30 for an oil change it absolutely unheard of. But we get SO many people who always try to haggle on price, or they will approve a service and then go back on it after its already done even thought we explained to them what the price was going to be. Some people can be a fucking nightmare to deal with. But yea sorry your service kind of sucked. Nissan Gang
