FLATHEAD SECRETS REVEALED

Ойын-сауық

The humble flathead is one of the most accessible species to Australian anglers. Inhabiting most estuarine systems around the county they can be caught both land and boat based. They eat lures aggressively using the right techniques and taste great on the plate. Andrew Orr is a well respected angler on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and shares a lifetime of valuable tips and techniques in this incredibly informative video.

Yeeesssss I lived on Bribe Island for 13 years & fished in the passage all the time sand crabs, flat head, whiting, brim, mangrove jack & the occasional snapper & even prawns off the jetty! Great place to live.

We moved to Nth QLD in 88 from Caloundra. At golden beach straight opposite the old Bills Bait Bar is was a regular occurrence to catch big lizards over a metre. That whole area from GB to Bells creek is so populated now.

Do you have any tips on choosing a colour of soft plastic for flathead? The water I fish in is clear blue water and is about 3 metres.I was looking at the baby bass colour and wakasagi from the baitjunkie 3.2 inch minnow, would that be good?

Sounds like an excellent choice mate. 1/6th or 1/4 jig head 3/0 hook. Also check out prawn imitations like Shads Mantis Shrimp

Ive caught probably 5 flattys total and not one ate my hook. All of them jagged. Theyd eat the bait then sit on my hook and i was just impatient and brought the line in. Every time i hook them its either under the head or under the belly.

An ounce is approximately 28 grams so a jig head could be referred to as half ounce or 14 grams
