I just install it on my 23 Tacoma OffRoad, it's an excellent addition to my build. It high Quilty and a solid product, worth every dollar, it time to to put it to work and scratch it up. I use the truck's tailgate as a building contractor would use it and I'm a OffRoad Warrior. I'm going on a 4 day trip to Death Valley with friends, it's going to work out perfect.

We agree! The problem I want to overcome is the top cap, I have a plastic cover on my truck and I like the fact that the plastic goes over the top. A flat design would be easy but I think I still want to have a top cap.

Would be awesome to make them for 1st gen Tacomas. Looks sick

I'm in for one. The price point was right, it maintains the OEM top plastic ledge (that makes a seal with the canopy). It doesn't add weight (like a certain cutting board tailgate) The shipping cost was perfect. I think you might have hit the perfect spot in the market. If this is as good as it looks and the price is profitable for you this seems like it could easily be the default tailgate mod. Good luck.

Any idea of when you may have a skin ready for the 2023 tundra?

Saw another video about this product suggesting that the OEM hardware be changed out so that supplied hardware fits flush to surface ... as opposed to being raised like OEM hardware. What is best?

SnailArmor has a newer version than when this video was released. They do provide new flat hardware now.

I have a 2018 tundra

This Vid is awesome! I do NOT need to replace that back plastic cover (don't get me wrong, your new there looks amazing and I saw one that had two custom cup holder wholes precut so that is cool to sit on and have that built in holders too if say tailgating?) anyways, my gate is up and the handle is not opening the gate and I think I know the issue, however, just getting that plastic off the back is brutal cause several of my T30 Torx are stripped!! So now I have to 1. climb in the truck and sit down and try to get to these bolts from the inside since my gate wont come down and 2. I need to find something to Tap Hard like a Flat Head into these t30s and hope to create that hard LINE in the bolts so then I can just use a screw driver to get them out and then input new T30s) ugh...all of this from inside that gate will be tough! I am at an age with certain health issues that make just getting that bed and out, sounds soooo hard and soar! lol I am only 48 but have major neuropathy of both legs, and massive swollen edema on both legs so there is NO way I can sit crisscross applesauce, as I should be able to do. 3.I may try to do all of this standing up, from outside, reach around inside and see if I can do this kind of reverse angled, but thinking I wont have nearly enough pressure or power or leverage to do all that from outside. Uhg! That was a breath full, any insight!?! lol. Mike

The small screws didn’t countersink completely. I may have have it upside down but the logo is face up.
