I loved the 90s! We had a 4 year old daughter and we lived in a tiny house on a dead end street. We lived a simple life and had lots of fun. No cell phones so no distractions.

I just turned 30 and realized the past couple years that I greatly miss not having a smart phone... I held off on getting a phone so long (until I was 17) until my parents made me. Now I'm addicted. Great lol

Very pivotal year in our lives. My wife and I both started new jobs which allowed us to both retire comfortably before age 60! Also my favorite college football team (Michigan) had a perfect 12-0 season and split the national championship with Nebraska. A side note about the movie Titanic. Over the decades I have literally been to dozens...if not hundreds of movies at the theater. Titanic is the only one ..... when I walked out I felt like I knew what it must have felt like for people who saw classics like Gone With the Wind or Casablanca at the theater when they first came out back in the day.

My grandpa died on March 19 (barely knew him, and I had another who died in 1973 that nobody in my family but my dad knew) and the Mike Tyson thing took place on my 2nd birthday. This maybe the first Flashback video with a June 28 event that happened since I was born discussed. Also, the same day Netflix started, the PBS Kids show Lamb Chop's Play-Along ended, soon to be replaced by The Charlie Horse Music Pizza in 1998 (and sadly, Shari Lewis died shortly after that started), Infinite Lists, Katie Betzing from Jatie Vlogs, both Jules & Saùd, ASMR Darling and Jessy Ace were born and Alvy Moore (Mr. Kimball from Green Acres), Burgess Meredith and Jimmy Stewart passed away.

Sorry I lived in Oklahoma just 60 miles from OKC. We lost our innocence and some freedoms thanks to McVeigh and Nichols. My son was only 7 and scared to death that someone would come and blow up something where we lived. I was working for Hallibuton at the time and yes, Dick Cheney was CEO, so my son's concerns were valid up to point. I don't think that there is any place in the country where bad things have not happened. It is a symptom of the times we live in.

In 1997 I was trained in UNIX to support a new application so we could get ready for Y2K. 5 weeks training in 3 months. I had a Handspring PDA, a clone of the Palm. I had toured the USS Constitution while in Boston about 10 years prior. The Loomis Fargo robbery was daily front page news in Charlotte and is an amazing story of how the robbers brashly went from trailers to mansions, wrecks to expensive cars and the women even got boob jobs. They never left the area and were caught. EDIT except for one guy found in Mexico.

It’s weird I’m not nostalgic for the 90’s at all. Which is strange because all the major things in my life happened during that decade. Met my hubby in 90, was in WTC One during the bombing in 93, Married in 94 & lost everything, home, 2 cars & all my jewelry including wedding rings to the Texas Pipeline explosion in NJ. Moved to PA & had my son in 96. Wow! That’s a lot of PTSD 😂

I was 10 years old when Princess Diana died. I remember setting my alarm clock and waking up early in the morning to watch her funeral. I felt like it was an important time in history and I didn’t want to miss it. I remember my dad and his friends talking about the Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield fight. It sounded crazy to me. I definitely remember the launch of Google and Biggie getting shot and killed, but a lot of the other stuff I don’t remember. I had a friend obsessed with the movie Titanic. I wasn’t interested because I felt it was too long 😂

The Palm Pilot led to the modern smartphone. I had several Palms with Wi-Fi internet access; later cellular access was added and the "smartphone" was born. In all reality a smartphone IS a PDA with cellular network access. We just stopped using the term "PDA". Now we call the devices "phones" even if CALLING is the function used the LEAST. I have used my "phone" for less than 60 minutes ALL YEAR as a telephone. 🤷‍♂️ Also I always thought "Hale-Bopp" was a good name for a dance, LOL.
