The Synco's sound was clearer. Your voice sounded pleasantly crispy with it. The Rode sounded slightly muffled in comparison.

SYNCO on-camera microphone M3 offers a 100Hz low cut filter to eliminate low-frequency noises caused by airflow, shake, electrical current, or traffic. Thus clear and crisp sound without unwanted rumbles is captured.

I got the Synco Mic-D2 a year ago, as I needed a backup mic to my MKH416. Let me tell you, that is THE closest I have ever heard a microphone get to the MKH416 (only $250, though right now Cyber Monday sales have it at $199). I got it to keep in my bag if something ever happened to my MKH416 and needed a backup, but I have used it several times as a second mic and the differences between the two is very minimal (have tried recording at both 24-bit/192kHz and 32-bit float on my Zoom F6). I think Booth Junkie has a video on the Synco Mic-D2 as well. Thanks for this video, I might get this is a backup to my current shotgun mics (I have my ole fathful Shure VP83 and of course a Rode Video Mic Pro+). Do you know if the M3 can take a little water abuse?

Nice review! I just ordered it and will test if it works good for my camera. The Fujufilm X-T200 has very bad preamps.

Great review, very informative. Have you ever compared the sound quality of this one to the Shure MV88+? That’s another mic that I’m considering right now. Thanks.

I noticed with the SYNCO microphone you can hear slightly less of the background noise in comparison to the RODE microphone

I thought the Rode sounded better but my hearing sucks. Interested to see everyone else's thoughts.

Well the thing is that this test is running in a very controlled enviroment. I would love to see it in a non controlled enviroment like a loud street
