Parliament gets no credit as a band that was way ahead of their time. Like Nirvana and Led Zeppelin so to speak. George Clinton was a pure musical genius. Probably the most original band there ever was

One of the most compelling and powerful openings to any song! I give them genius credit...all the way. Full sound, great musicians and singers. Your "Nirvana" comparison doesn't fit into this category...they suck and should have never been given a record contract.

I think I'd have died of funk if I would be at this show. This is the best funk I've ever seen. And this kind of funk is exactly what the world of today needs, a true free expressive soul.

Awesome - they brought the funk to Houston in April 1978 !! - I was born exactly 2 weeks after this show in the fine city of H-town. Even though my mom was not at this show maybe Bootsy's Bass penetrated the earth and walls of this city and the rhythm found it's way into the womb makin me ready to roll.
