There are a handful of Japanese animated shows where there's a main protagonist with an extremely tragic backstory. They carry with them a deep sadness. A melancholic solitude of sorts. Yet even though they have all the reason to give up and crumble, they choose not to. They rather choose to keep on pushing forward and help others. That takes tremendous compassion, kindness and strength. So if the melancholic anime dude with an unimaginable painful past can persevere, so can you. Shoutout to Berserk ⚔️
