I like that small one. I've been using my snow shovel. I place the snow shovel such that it blocks the heat from the plants I want to protect and use the flame thrower on the other side. That small one you have would be much better though since it speeds it up I bet because of the trapped heat.

Have you tried painting the weeder to stop rust? Wondering if high heat paint by rustoleum would work. I’ve used it on bbqs and fireplace flues. Thx for your sharing to help us👍

Flame weeders are also FAR more economical than chemical weeding. A tank of propane will cover MANY times more ground than chemical sprays. I can cover my property (residence, not a farm) with my flame weeder for almost a whole season on one 20 gallon tank. You won't do that with chemicals.

If you squeeze a leaf between your thumb and forefinger after it's been hit by flame, you should leave a dark green fingerprint on the leaf.

Should paint that with BBQ paint and see if that lasts better (Haha just saw that someone else said that.) They also have exhaust paint for tractors that should be able to take the heat irrc

I am interested in purchasing the hood with roller. I already have the backpack and tank I bought from Johnny’s select seats. I have the dragon torch that I bought from Home Depot I assume the hood will fit that. Great videos thanks so much.👍🏼

They also rust very quickly because of the nature of the propane. You'll need to keep it cleaned.

The red dragon flame weeder you list on your site is the 100 000btu version. Is it the one you would recomand with your hood or the 400 000btu or 500 000btu would be good too. Which one is best choice?

It will fit the 100k or 400k. I like the 100k of you will not be using an adjustable regulator. If using the adjustable regulator the I like the 400k
