Thanks so much, Jamey! This is one of our favorite mechanics in the game too. I don’t remember exactly how or when we stumbled into the idea 😅

However you figured it out, it's awesome! :)

Completely agree. In fact the health system is one of the big reasons I backed the game. It is one of those brilliant yet simple innovations that make you go "wow other games need to do this."

Totally agree! The interaction between Life (Health) and Action cards is brilliant, as well as working with the timing of when that Life card will make it back into your hand. Very smart design by Peter and Mike.

I had never heard of this game before, but it looks awesome! I like the keyforge type system and I am intrigued by that health system, and the interesting plays you can make with it!

love the hit point system in The Wildsea where tracks for individual abilities fill up and then are lost, so a choice of how loosing hitpoints affects you, but then the joy of getting those amazing abilities back when you get to heal

This mechanism reminds me of shards of infinity (and magic probably) where heros come out and are useful for activating, but then may go into the discard pile, but could come back eventually. The heros being the health for your character themselves is a clever nuance instead of having a seperate base health wheel 🤔

in essence what u like is the non-permanent aspect of loss i think that "at least in theory" u could replenish something that is in many games thought of as permanent loss and the positive anticipation of it not being so is like a permanent fairy dust that improves one's outlook while playing

Well said! Yes, that plus the ability to spend health to boost other cards (while not permanently losing the health)--it's a great decision space.
