Flag of Chuvashia
The symbolic meaning of the flag is explained. The music on the background is the anthem of Chuvashia.
The flag was designed by Elli Jurjĕv. The heraldic symbols of the flag are based on symbols of ancient art of ornamentation: the tree, fire, sun, earth and harmony.

Maybe so. When symbols are used they can be interpreted differently. Although this symbol is designed in a certain manner it's still read differently. The Y on Bulgarian artifacts may also stand for tree, it can also be read as "CH/Ş" for tree - the only solid sound in the word. It is deciphered by some scholars as Ch in Chuvash Bulgar Runes and Khazar Runes.

Well my proposition this is siluet of wolff-legend of Ashina is popular in Altay.Man and femail wolff began a nation....I saw this simbol on flag in Bashkiria..
To me Bashkir sign looks completely different - but probably it has the same motif. Menoric symbols are very common. The Chuvash Y, though, is definitely a tree and has no such poetic (powered by a legend) meaning. The Chuvash Y is laconic and it stands not for a fictional meaning but for the object of meaning - the Tree - ultimate sign of human birth and growth.

I thing this is stilized variant of simbol Y this simbol is very popular on difrent artefact of bulgars !
Take Jewish menora for comparison - is has fictional meaning as well (the place where Moses got ten commandments - near a burning bush on mount of Sinai), but it merges with its technical meaning - the burning tree, and later a chandelier.
