Although it's always fun using them down south, especially if one manages to get their hands on as many denominations at once as possible =]

The 'pirate accent' isn't from Bristol it's from Shaftesbury, 35 miles south of Bristol (accents change noticeable about every 10 miles in that part of England). The Bristol (or Brizzel as locals pronounce it) accent is similar but a lot softer and is closer to 'standard' English. Bristol has a long pirate past (as does the whole of the South West of England) but the pirate accent as recognised by the world results from the iconic performance of Robert Newton (from Shaftesbury) as Long Hohn Silver in Walt Disney's Treasure Island.

Almost all names can be translated into everyday words. In Europe we have names that mean ''man'', ''little mother'', ''shine'', ''freedom'', ''rich'', ''seventh'', ''bear'', ''farmer'' etc etc. But since they are Greek, Latin or mediaeval words, noone thinks it's weird.

Without looking it up, I know that Oman comes after Norway. The reason I know this is online registration forms. Every time I have to select my country from a list, I press "o" and (arrow up). This is more efficient than typing "n", because Norway is the last of the "n"-countries, and Oman is the first of the "o" countries.

I once had a student whose name is "Book No Lie", which literally means "Book tell no lies". I also had two brothers in the same school bearing the names "Serenity Japan" and Korea, Japan is a really intelligent kid. There was also a student whose name is "Shell Group" After Shell Group of companies. In the southern part of the country, they normally bear really long names, with consonant clusters, e.g Teremobowem, that is a really short one with too many e's, another name is Amiesimanyeofori, Ebierediseghakimifa, Woyengiinetemona
