An envelope is the name for the modifications you can make to any given sound. Attack, decay, sustain, and release. Or asdr. In the video he shows this briefly

You don't really need to convert the 808's to audio. You can just go into the sample, put on an envelop and turn down the attack, decay, sustain and release. It's easier imo

Bro the best part of your vids is when you literally make the sounds effects of what you're talking about yourself. You'll play something then be like "see it goes wuuuh wuuuh" had me geeked on another one giving us examples of drums.

To stop the 808, just raise the hold and lower the adsr and there should be no overlap

You have to have a normal note below/above the slide. Also 808 kick isnt an 808 its a kick so dont use that.

On the Envelope/Instrument settings bring the DELAY and ALT all the way to the left, raise the HOLD all the way to the right and the bring the DEC, SUS & REL all the way to the left. It should stop the 808 from leaking over

If you're using cut itself on the 808 just create a pattern with a note and drop the velocity down, that way it will play a muted note hence dropping the 808.

@busyworksbeats I use a volume automation envelope on the specific mixer track of the 808 to down out any unwanted release length.

I experienced this too. This slide note needs to be on top or below a non-slide note. It's really weird. I still don't fully get how it works. I feel like there should be a much more intuitive way to achieve slides.

It seems duplicating the note is the part I was missing. To duplicate a note first left click on the note that you want to slide from, then left click on the piano roll where you want the other note to slide to. Double left click that most recent note. A window will open, select the slide triangle icon. (the notes need to overlap)

Fl studio needs more hip hop synths and vst plug ins

For some reason, the slide notes are not played in my FL studio. I am using the same midi pattern as you show, using your 808 Science sounds. I can hear the portamento ones though. What's the problem?
