i hate the way people treat her as a producer. people seem to believe that arca produced everything she does (although i am happy that an openly gay producer is getting his props) even when she has production credits on all but like 1 or 2 songs. she's produced a bunch on her own but people still think that it was arca or emile haynie or whoever else.

You get producer credits for the input you verbally give in the room where the instrumental is made, which is what Twigs does, essentially directing the music that's made for her which is fine. But almost everyone does that. Not everyone (including Twigs, she does not do the following) programs the sounds of the instrumentals, chooses the sound selection, knows the music theory to construct the drum pattern, mix the sounds and so on. THAT is the real producer, the beatmaker, the magician. In this case it was indeed Paul Epworth, who produces for absolutely every pop act. Hi from a year ago.

you get a production credit for turning up the volume. i highly doubt she had much of an impact on the production. this is a sound only someone who spent 10 years in their bedroom could attain

That tapping sound effect is so amazing.

I think that melody is one of the constant things in this song, besides the kicks rythmn from the bridge onward, and the snare on the 4th beat in the chorus
