I have total respect for Fjallraven, and the fact they have stayed true to their philosofi and brand. Soooooo many change and loose identity to please the time and current demands. Kånken is one of the best backpacks for a stealthy prepper too because it doesn't attract any attention at all. Every cool kid has a Kånken. Bonus points for not dressing like a tacticool operator.

Hahaha, I was reaaaaally close with my tactical outfit! Glad I didn’t went with it!

Flights. It’s square which is more efficient than teardrop. It’s narrow enough to leave legroom under the seat. The straps snap together so they don’t drag on the ground; also by flattening the straps and carrying by the handles, it looks like a tote which helps if your “official” overhead carryon bag is a large 32L daypack. The zippers are hard to open from under the flaps which somewhat deters pilfering. It is minimalist.

I'm an adult woman and my Kanken is my favorite everything. Purse, hiking bag, city bag, going out bag, lol..it's PERFECT. I own it in pink and literally it has been w me around the world. it's fully waterproof and simply amazing. The best part about Fjallraven's philosophy is how they TRULY do things for the environment and the animals. For example they are one of the few brands who make jackets with truly traceable down (where they don't torture the animals plucking them alive, etc). Honestly there's no need to support the horrible leather industry and the handbag industry when you can minimize your wardrobe and just have a couple of key pieces. For example my kanken looks adorable with the peasant top from PinupGirlClothing and other vintagey retro pieces. Yes you can love retro 40's fashion & still wear sustainable clothing brands. Actually the 40's were a really austere time bc of the war, so I feel like kanken's simplicity in design fits so perf w pinup-y clothes. Although Kanken came out in the 70's, I feel like its timeless design just works with everything and anything. I just subscribed to your channel. I'm also bilingual and your pronunciation of english is so beautiful. I could listen to u all day! :))) keep up the amazing work and beautiful vids :))

I lived in Brooklyn Ny for all of my twenties and I'm now in my thirties and enjoying life to the fullest up here in the mountains of Upstate NY. ahhhh mountain life is the best life *Sighs*... I got rid of lots of material things and just kept the good ones (i.e: my Kanken lol), to move up here to the mountains ,and I live w the loves of my life here, including my fur-child. She's a rescued pitbull princess and my full time daughter!!! she's so precious and cute and I'm a crazypitbulllady hahah :) Speaking of the kanken, the side pockets are AMAZING for dog treats if youre hiking w your dog. I bike quite a bit and definitely the reflective patch helps. at some point I'll do a review of my bag and let you know :)) I appreciate you replying so promptly. If u are working in a corporate world or legal field like me, this backpack is a no-no. As for other things, yes it can be use even tho it is lacking of proper padding, lack of compartment, and very small size water bottle compartment.

This is great for information on the kanken so this was really helpful!! Also the filming is amazing

My daughter has 4 of them she uses for different things, travel, dance class... She love them, beats them up pretty good and they hold up very well. I always wondered how to pronounce the name Kanken. I was way off, ha. Peace

Haven't had a clue they made bigger sizes with laptop compartment as well. I've had this backpack on my mind for some urban exploring, but it seems I can actually consider it as my "work" backpack (IT guy here, so notebook is my everyday tool). Thanks for the review Ted. Hey man! I’m thinking the same thing, I carry a computer and a camera most places I go so a bigger version with room for all the equipment is something that I’m considering as well! Right now there’s a lot of work related things happening, I hope I can share more about that in future videos but there’s definitely plans for more adventures, I’m thinking about going a bit north and do some paddling! it's probably not, it's designed to be used as a school bag but if I were to use it in the outdoors id probably add the shoulder straps :)

No, not the equivalent of Mora. It costs way to much while Mora is very cheap and good at the same time. Still, a good backpack!

TedWeirum я знаю людей, которые используют такой рюкзак десять и более лет, поэтому не представляю, как такой продукт можно испортить настолько. Но выглядит это, как-будто на нём съезжали с горы. Надо отдать должное моей любимой фирме - ни один ремень не оторвался, ни один шов не разошёлся и все застёжки работают отлично. Но вид ужасный.

My biggest pet peeve as an outdoorsmen is when these kids take out side gear that I respect (north face, Patagonia, fjallraven) etc. and make it this preppy look, I don’t know why it pisses me off so bad. Like why do you need that stuff if you sit in a damn office all day. I know I’m wrong for thinking that way but that’s my opinion. Excuse my grammar

Well, things change these brands started out as one thing and with the quality the have people want to use them in there everyday life. I think the best part is when you see somebody in the city wearing a expedition down jacket the size of a mountain when they’re waiting for the bus.. it’s all business I guess. Thanks for watching!

At the time when this was introduced it was very practical, it helped a lot of people to straighten out their backs from using sling packs, this is an old but yet iconic design :)

Not true I have a back problem and this pack is very comfortable esp if you are a women and dont have massive shoulders i find bags with big shoulder strap very uncomfortable

This is product for stupid people who buys branding not a product. Good, cofmy,quality backpacks are f.e. Gregory, Osprey,Deuter but you probably don't know those brands

This is the typical city guy in Sweden. Gotta have the latest and greatest from the most overpriced company you can find. It's more important to show off that you can afford an expensive brand than anything else.

That might be true, I can only speak for myself, fjällräven offers different kind of clothes for different activities some or more focused towards technical trekking and others are focused on a walk in the woods. Considering the quality and the environmental thought that goes in to the making of their garments I don’t find them overpriced. There’s plenty of information about it on their website.
