Wasn't into the clown show at all. Do what makes you happy, but it left me behind.
i need to see more songs fizzified
it's giving friends-who have-crazy-musical-energy-and-has-no-idea-where-to-put-it so they made a band 😆🔥

Kinda. Fizz looks like a fun project that let them all work together, and someone's convinced a label to sign them so perhaps there's more steady income in it. Musically it's a huge step back so far, and the music world has lost something unique & wonderful (for the present) as they focus on the band, and have suspended their solo careers. But I'll keep watching & hoping for more. It's certainly light, celebratory & fun. Looks like they're having fun. While dodie & Orla had both peaked in terms of the quality & quantity of their production, both were rather sombre, their work focused on the pain & alienation they've experienced. That's relatable but perhaps they were both overdue for some time being simply light, frothy & frivolous. I hope they're having as much fun as it appears, but hope too that we haven't seen the end of their solo careers.
Words fail me. I've never seen anything like this band. I'm going down the rabbit hole now, searching for anything and everything they've ever recorded. Thank you, weird random KZread software, for tossing this into my KZread Feed!

🎡
why are they all in weird fancy dress?
dodie is so "Crazy", but also so relatable. Orla is so talented. Greta, wow, Greta. The guy in the band? Is just the guy in the band ;-)
Haven't decided about the sound. They've got a distinct sound: that's a good thing. But I'm mourning the end of dodie's most productive period, and Orla's, and the end (for now) of their solo music. This is neither. Shouldn't be - it's something different, new - but it's nowhere near as different, engaging & interesting as those two have achieved on their own. They're committed to the band, so while this project runs it's the end of both solo careers. That's as it should be, but - so far - Fizz is poor consolation. Both dodie & Orla were peaking, producing their best music ever. Not at all repetitive but distinctive, and that's hard to achieve. Both had something significant to say. Both had a level of intelligent musicality that is rare, near non-existent in pop music. I don't yet see potential that they'll achieve that with Fizz. So far, the music has good production values but is lightweight, says little, is as significant as... fizz on soda pop. That's surprising. dodie & Orla make audio art. They're truly unique, and their music is as intelligent, expressive and engaging as anything written by Joni Mitchell or James Taylor. They're quite different. Each has managed to create a distinctive sound without becoming at all repetitive, and that's rare. I get that they have supported each other's solo work, but I don't feel like we're seeing much of either of them in Fizz. Perhaps they have yet to gel as a writing team, as opposed to supporting each others' solo work. So far, I don't find the combined effort very engaging. It doesn't sound like they're writing stuff individually that they sing together (which can work: I'd accuse the Beatles of that) or like one of them is carrying the load (Simon & Garfunkel always sounded to me like Paul Simon with Garfunkel providing harmony). A true musical partnership is probably rarer than great marriages, hard to achieve & maintain if you work together. Perhaps Lennon & McCartney had that for some years. I'm not hearing it here. If it IS a joint effort, the sum of the parts is definitely not equal to the parts on their own. Fizz looks like a fun project that let them all work together, and someone's convinced a label to sign them so perhaps there's more steady income in it. Musically it's a huge step back so far, and the music world has lost something unique & wonderful (for the present). But I'll keep watching & hoping for more.

Im so sad that I agree. I enjoy Fizz but my god my soul is with Orla and Dodie individually. Their poetry is beautiful and just magnificent in their own ways
