Attention to all guys who want to cut out this small window. Heat the plastic an cut through like butter! Read all for description. Ok guys, i did it. I saw a video on YT where the guy removed the blower to inspect the door for fresh indoor air change. He found it broken an fixed it. So this was the opportunity for me to check this door. The blender doors i checked through a hole in that part in the dash where you cut a piece out. Long story short. All my doors are ok, but the ac cooler changer was dirty like hell. So i decided to clean that beast with compressed air blowing from the opposite side . So i cut a hole where you cut. But! Attention, i heated the dash plastic instead of the knife and i used i small soldering torch. If you heat the plastic you can cut through like butter. No need to drill or hf cutting an the best thing you can weld mold the plastic gap after all. I think this is pvc, this would explain why it is weld able. I would like to thank you a lot for the idea with the heated knife! This solved it easy for me. Thx thx

Didn't want to tear the whole thing apart (I live in Phoenix--111 degrees as I write this). A quick fix I did was tape over the outside air inlet on the cowl under the hood. Took about 10 minutes and a big improvement.

I believe your front door only went part way up because the end you place in last which has the two rods to connect it to the door, is to be put in with the limiter pin that sticks out the side, indexed toward the driver side opposite the end of the door. There are two plastic stops sitting at about 10 and 6 oclock under that hole so the motor knows the door is closed when that rod hits them. Good video though.

Quick question: '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland - blend doors failed. Previous owner cut the heater coil so there is no heat - but I live in FL so I'm only interested in A/C - go figure. Blows cold a/c into the dash of course not into the cabin ...so can I cut into it and just remove the failed blend doors - and not replace? It'd be 100% fresh air with cold air, correct?

If you disconnect both sides and use compressed air and/or pressurize water to flush it with, it will work much better than just using the water pump to push cleaner through it, assuming that's what ur plan is

RabidHobo sounds like both blend doors and maybe the recirculation door. I’m not exactly sure what that is but I’m sure if you do a google search you can find more on forums and maybe even the parts you need.
