That would look so cute! Also if the wig or hair was like bob and then include maybe purple bolero or coat to nail the autumnal theme with the beret.

I think Haylie’s coordinate looks a little weird with transparent tights and a transparent shirt. I think it would be cute to just get some solid black tights (which would be easy to find outside of lolita shops) and possibly some purple shoes, although it might be difficult to color match to that deep purple. She’s done a great job using not-lolita things though, and I love her coord!

Since she's wearing transparent tights and wants black shoes, I think purple ruffle socks would look cute. Changing out the blouse and wearing purple wrist cuffs and would be cute, too.

Farrah should like get like a super intricate blouse, then like an overskirt like a penier but just for the skirt part, not the bodice since the skirt part feels too empty for ott, then like a big hat that needs to be tied to the chin and add like a bunch of blue tinted flowers, then have some textured socks or maybe like white socks with a blue, sax, gray or maybe even golden print (but only if there are some yellow flowers in the hat or maybe gold necklace or something) and then some like shoes with the heel more towards the centre or even some that go a bit higher than the ancle in sax, maybe a close shade of blue or gray and if it is a lace up, replace the laces with some nice satin ribbon in like a complimentary colour. And I just realised that maybe this is not ott sweet but I would do that to up the coord

I legit didn't know that Sax was short for Saxon Blue. I feel like I've been in the fashion for too long for that fact to have eluded me.

Shout out to the quarantine lolitas! It's a good time to try and buy especially since there is no immediate deadlines for meetups and cons to get all your pieces in time. I'm currently doing the same as Diana so I'm glad she is trying the style now lol.

I love just putting together outfits in online shops and then drawing them. It really fills the void right now when I don’t have any coords yet.

I was literally looking at that Hot Topic blouse yesterday and thinking it would be cute under a jsk.

for farrah: i think a moon and stars, space/night sky/magical kind of theme would be really beautiful! you could use a dark midnight blue blouse and tights, or find something with little gold star prints, constellation accessories, hair clips in a dark blue wig, etc. if you're into crafting you could find a tulle fabric with foil printed stars and use that to make a shawl or veil or overskirt, or make a magic wand or scepter with dangling stars!

Yea tbh as long as the blouse is frilly and looks good with the dress it doesn't matter where it's from. My first lolita blouses were from Ross dress for less/ ebay and no one said anything lol. 😂

For Haleigh... stripey tights! Purple and black, purple and white, or purple and orange stripeys, and matching arm warmers (haha, throwback to scene style) and definitely a witch hat. Stripey blouse or cardigan would also work! Love that jsk, I have envy :D

Deckofrabbits has an almost Ghibli-esque aesthetic with the hat and the boots and the color scheme, I feel like? It reminds me of Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle and basically he just looks fab. I think it would be fun to see a cream-and-gold coord with maybe some little flashes of black. Gold & black chess piece headpiece, really soft lacey tights, maybe some cream-colored gloves with black trim and gold bracelets or rings?? I have these black boots with gold heels that I'm also thinking about but that leans a little too edgy/goth I think lol

I LOVE the pirate blouse idea! 😄❤️ and I love the idea of another accent colour, I think blue can be tricky, especially when it’s pale blue! If it was dark blue, like a really strong blue, I think I’d go for a heavy yellow like mustard, but with baby blue I think it would overpower it.. maybe baby pink..? ❤️

I decided to buy my first lolita dress in quarantine as well.

I've been taking this time to get into lolita as well, though I've been sewing it myself. Next up is blouses, which I'm of course going to make out of chiffon, because it's obviously not hard enough already, ha ha. I've got my eye on a few prints that might work for future jsk's, but mostly i'm going to focus on construction elements overall. I really like pastry/doughnut prints, so once I find a print that I really connect with, I'll probably buy a ready made dress. I just really like making things myself though.

I feel like a purple shoe would be a nice way to work in purple because it would be easy to hide it not being a perfect color match and also doing some purple in the make up like a purple lipstick might be nice.

Coord 1: OTT Hime look? Get inspiration from the Rococo period. Pearls with gold, ivory, and cream colors to accent the piece would be lovely. You could curl your natural hair and pin it up with a big head piece like flowers and pearls, or go with something like a big ship (like... a legit miniature boat). Feathers are also a lovely thing to add to these things. And if that's all too much to do on your natural hair: a white wig, or just a wig in general would totally be perfect as well. Basically you will want to look towards 18th century fashion for inspiration. I highly suggest going and looking through some historical fashion books for that time period. Coord 2: yes, yes, yes! Witch hat with an orange/natural redhead wig would be amazing! Couple that with either platforms or big chunky boots, and you'd have a great gothic coord that's spoopily fun, cute, and a bit edgy in just all the right ways. I'm jealous of this coord, and I want it so bad Cx Coord 3: Ahhhh~ Yes~!! So jealous of this coord. As a fellow brolita, I am *living* for the casual aristocrat vibes this coord has. So, definitely thing the tricorn hat would be amazing with this outfit, especially if you had some gold trim on it, eith feathers that matched the colors in the jsk. Pair that with a nice regal high collared noble blouse, and a pair of lovely 18th century-inpired heels, and it would be stunning. Oooo!!! And if you added some things like a cool piece of face jewelry (like an ear cuff to earring chain), lots of rings, and a cane! That would be *amazing*~!!!! 10/10 would wear. A pirate theme would also look super cool and cute as well! Coord 4: This so needs to have some shell themed accessories. I think it would be fun to have a spiked crown of shells, were there are pink and purple shells that are into laced with these long white spiral shells that stick out like liberty spikes. Couple that with a purple shell purse, some pastel pearl jewelry, and it would be absolutely fantastic.

To add more purple to the coord if you are crafty at all you could take the dress with you to a fabric store so you could color match and get fabric or flowers or things to make for a head piece and lace or something to make wrist cuffs.

I really hope that one day you do a side series to this one where it's an updated review of people who have submitted photos, you had given advice and now they have a new coord!!!

For the first one I was thinking maybe an elegant lacy apron with embroidery or something. But definetly bigger sleeves! :D

I was thinking Farrah's dress might look good with a pop of a different bright color such as bright red cherries and some jewel toned jewelry. Another idea I had was a dark blue color. What about a very frilly very light yellow blouse and light yellow patterned tights? Just some ideas. I think on Haleigh (spelling?) I think it looks good as is. What I would try is a pure white pirate type of blouse and it would bring out the white in the dress. I think a good purple large bow in the hair with black ribbons or maybe a bat type of head piece. Deckofcards looks really cool and I agree with what Lovely Lor says. Maybe try black tights with a gold pattern. Dianakakis: If your hair is a wig then I would try a black wig and in that way you could have a purple or lilac blouse with a different bow or maybe a boater hat. For the first submission, maybe you could make your coord OTT if you incorporate your own motif through accessories? its kind of difficult with a dress thats just one colour but i think it gives you room to be more creative! I think sax is often popular with sky, winter or water/mermaid themed prints, so exploring that could be fun! like cloud jewellery, angel wings- or if you want to follow a water theme you could use shells (like a shell bag!), bubbles- it really just depends on what your individual style is tbh! after deciding that, i think its a good idea to introduce new colours too as Lor said :)! I'm probably not the best person to give advice because I've only admired lolita from afar for the past eight or so years but I think it could be fun to explore!

I think Haylie should just really lean into the Halloween vibes and go with the orange and black turtleneck, maybe spiderweb print tights, and a pair of pointy toed witch boots and a cute little witch hat or bat headpiece! Thats where my mind immediately went, cozy cute and Halloween-y

Totally agree, add frills to “end points” like ankles, wrists and neck. Men throughout history kept their necks covered, so a neck silk and a jabot would be so appropriate and look cute with the dress as well! Make it frilly!

I weirdly get like Alice in wonderland vibes from the first dress. Also headpiece wise, you can always cluster together mini picture frames for an ootd look , even including little canvases that have a jpeg crop of the frames in the print would be so sweet

I really love the Halloween idea for the Gone Batty dress. I recently ordered that same dress so hearing that advice is really helping me come up with more ways to style it. This is my own style, but an option for Haleigh is possibly leaning into a cute goth vampire style. Maybe a dark purple wig? I found a nice color on Arda. The color on there that I really liked is called Nightshade. Idk how well that would do for this dress but in my mind I'm imagining it working?? Purple shoes would be nice too but i haven't really been able to find any nice ones. I'm trying to find a cute goth cape/capelet so that might be an option as well.

I kind of accidentally did a multi-purple coord. Originally I just defaulted to my usual purple wig with a coord I was working on, but I found that having multiple shades of purple wasn't bad at all so long as I spread them out and use something neutral to break up the color chunks. The main jsk and wristcuffs were very light lavender, I had royal purple for my wig, makeup, and nails, and I separated those chunks of color with black and smaller gold accents. Because my color scheme was one color (purple) and neutral colors (black and even though gold is a color, I find it works very well as a "neutral" tone to add into color schemes) I didn't feel that the purples were clashing or that I had too much going on, it felt like an intentional color scheme! I would try to find purple accessories that are matching, if your lucky shoes too. But if matching shoes aren't happening try using a neutral tone, grey like Lor mentioned, and it ideally should keep the coord colorful without seeming tacky

Farrah could consider Mint green as a lighter accent color or maybe look into a darker accent color, like navy or dark purple I think a darker accent might make the light blue pop more. Haleigh might consider a purplely grey color as an accent, maybe a wig or headpiece. DeckofRabbits the first thing that really came to mind was maybe changing his hat, to like an ash grey crown, I think that could really make him seem more royal which is the vibe I got from this cord. Dianakakis I don't don't know if this is done but maybe powder her hair? with like baby powder or dry shampoo, because her hair is lovely but very purple. And maybe a pink sash around the waist or over a shoulder? I'll be honest down at the bottom of this comment - I am new to Lolita (so new that I found this channel like two weeks ago) so I don't what exactly Most Lolita are looking for. These are just suggestion on what I think would make the cord look better in my beginner opinion.

Ayeeee! Hello fellow baby quarantine lolita! Awesome video Lor! I loved the suggestions for the OTT coord. Those headpieces you showed were amazing!

i don't have an issue with where the 2nd coord's blouse is from, but i personally think it just doesn't match the jsk well. the polka dots don't match the jsk print and thus are distracting. additionally, the tights are also sheer black, but yet another pattern which makes it look a little disorganized. i think solid black would be best, at least for a blouse. once one conflicting pattern is replaced the other may become less distracting i think. oh and for adding more purple, they could maybe wear a lavender or matching purple bolero? a headpiece would look nice in black or purple as well i think. and black lace gloves too maybe :3

The Infantia Little Mermaid dress is my 1st lolita dress 2!! Sadly I'm still waiting on my 😭 2 months or has it been 3? I got the pinky, peachy🍑 color way, and I'll be sure to use some of this advice once my dress comes. On a good note at least i have the head bow in my possession 😅

Full disclosure: I'm not in Lolita nor do I know much about fashion writ large. (But I do respect the community!) I'm speaking from a familiarity with balancing colors in other mediums. For Haleigh, I really like the suggestion of cream and black because I think the contrast would help really enliven that deep purple on the dress. I also think that going with silver instead of cream could work, because there is silver already in the print. (I think? Hard to tell if there are silver or white accents, or both.) If she wants to incorporate more purple, I'm picturing accessories that are either primarily cream or primarily silver with black trim and purple accents could do the trick. (Again, assuming those don't violate some constraint of Lolita or of the look she's specifically going for. That's context I don't have.)
