We wanted a small cheap project car because......reasons.
Found this little Toyota Matrix in need of a good home.
Brought it back to the shop, and tore into it, and it needed A LOT.
Changed the catalytic converters.
Changed the exhaust manifold gasket.
Changed the spark plugs and coils.
Throw in some fresh gas and.....
IT'S ALIVE!
Took it down the road and it's actually fun!

Dang straight the Matrix is fun !!!! Plus, it's a TOYOTA....run forever w/ the right owner ! My 5 spd gets me 36-37 mpg out here in the country

Don’t we know it! We’re probably gonna replace the timing chain and tensioner anyway just to avoid future problems, but for now we’re just glad it runs lol

TELL ME PLEASE!!! Does the pipe with the Cat on it have two cats or a cat and a resonator??? Just had the cat deleted on My 03 Matrix and wondering if there are two or of the downstream on is a resonator or a 2nd cat? Viewing from Canadian Westcoast! CHEERS

From what I see, it I has 2 cats! The resonator was behind the second cat going into the exhaust (just behind where we put the coupler) Hope that helps!
