I just took mine off from my 2009 Aston Martin Vantage, sanded it and respray with 2K Clear Gloss in my case but they also have 2K Clear Mat

Thank you! I was surprised it came down to Walmart as the preferred supplier for this expensive car, LOL. I searched for weeks but couldn't find anyone who covered this repair. Glad to put something out there that people can try. And, yes, there is a striking appearance with that Emblem!

Did you try an epoxy adhesive? The carbon splitter is likely carbon/epoxy material so I would think an epoxy resin would do the trick.

I have not tried it, since the epoxy part of the splitter (under the matte paint), is OK. The rock chips are causing the matte paint applied over top of the epoxy to chip off.

I wanted to choose the same color and type of paint that was already on the splitter. So I chose matte clear.

Sorry Pat, but that ain't repairing! You can not treat carbon fiber like paint....its like Gold, do you repair a scratch in a gold bullion by using body filler and paint? These are scars of glory and you should honor them or replace the part if you are looking for a permanent solution!

@@PatsGarageOnline if what you are saying is correct, then your Acura have a fake carbon fiber lip. Some cars have plastic parts wrapped with materials look like carbon fiber, in some cases its made of plastic been wrapped with a thin layer of real carbon fiber to give the exact look of the real deal. In the first case its just like a steel bar painted in gold to look like gold, in the second case its steel bar gold-plated but still not gold... Both are fake! Carbon fiber know for two things : light weight and strength...they might mock the first one but the second is very hard to even get close to. Thos chips you had on (carbon fiber) lips won't be there if the lip was made of the real deal.

@@rashad9014 Yep, it's real. The underside is all CF weave and the part is extremely light. Same with the rear diffuser. Everything has a matte finish. Epoxy will not cure matte. Only paint will do that.
