Fixing My Shark Navigator Lift Away NV352 Hose

I'm sharing my experience fixing a clog on my Shark Navigator NV352 vacuum cleaner. This will be helpful if the blockage is at the handle part where the hose make a U or L turn. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank You! A pen got stuck in that same are on my machine and I couldn't get it out. Started taking off the housing, but the screws weren't coming out. This saved me a lot of time from finishing that. Pulled the hose like you suggested and more digging with a gardening tool got the pen out. Great trick!

Thank you for this!! You just saved me $40 bucks. I didn't even need to take the screws out at all...just stretching the hose and turning it on sucked out the stick that was stuck in there. I'd recommend others start watching at about 4 minutes...if that's all you need you'll save a lot of hassle by not taking the screws out.

That did it for me!! I had a little plastic box stuck in the hose that was inside the handle, and once I stretched it out and turned the vacuum on it moved it down far enough that I could get it out. Thank you so much for posting this!

SO we had a pen stuck in the handle. And we tried to take apart the handle, which as this video showed, was not helpful. So In a combination of pulling the hose as long as we could and then reversing the hose - sticking the nozzle end into the direct vacumm intake - it pulled the pen up into the handle and we shook it loose. Thank you for the helpful video!

Folks, don't be harsh with this video, it is an excellent video, and helped me fix a clog in the curved plastic area... There is absolutely no way to open it up... but removing the screws allows you to open it a little... I had a ball point pen lodged in the curve.. completely not accessible. The only thing I would add to the video is once you take the screws out, put something in there like a screw driver, just to keep it open, just enough... like maybe 1/4" opening... I extended the hose... tried to make it as straight as possible... turned on the power, and it pulled the pen right out into an accessible area. I'm too lazy to go to a repair shop or order a part, I would have bought a new one at Costco, but after 6 years, my vacuum still works great... Thanks for a great video!! I feel a sense of accomplishment when I can repair an appliance myself.

Just one more tip. I found a video for another model that said there are screws under the rubber part. He didn't show how to take it out though. I'm going to try stretching the hose and hope I can get my clog out. I've taken the screws out and knew I needed to look for a video. Thank you!

Your video is fantastic, however, this didn't exactly work for me. We did all you said but It turns out the clog of dust was so big I ended up put water down the hose with the garden hose and it finally came out.

Cut a clothes hanger and bend a small hook on one end works well or remove the entire hose and run water through it and let it dry really well before using.

Had same issue. This is design flaw. I couldn't even get screws out. They don't seem Philips or Alan or star. So, I guess it is okay I could not get them off. :) Your approach on pulling the hose fixed it for me too. A cat play mouse was sucked in.

How do you take the handles apart? That's what i was hoping you would tell me. Mine isn't clogged. The hose is ripped wide open a couple inches from the edge of the handle. And the handle housing won't come apart completely so i can just cut the end of the hose off and eliminate the torn part . All these comments are funny though. You people make me feel like I'm a genius because i understand the concept of taking my vacuum apart. So thanks for makings me feel good about my own abilities. But back to the vacuum... mine is a shark aspirateur nv 351 26 . Can anyone tell me how to take the handle housing completely apart?? This is the only video i found where the vac handle is the same.

I can't even get the screws out. I've tried several different screw drivers. The screws in mine are different, they have more star points and a tiny raised thing in the middle. It's like you need a special tool made just for it

They make it to where you spend money and buy the replacement hose only to get the hose and realize that you can't actually replace it because they want you to buy new vacuum or pay to have it fixed at one of their dealers.
