That's the nature of living in remote places. if and when something happens, you need to have the equipment to fix it yourself because there are no guarantee that someone else will be able to help you. If a small flooding occur at an airport in a city of 400 000 , they will just call _a_ "water-removal-company" downtown and have them fix it. They don't need to have the equipment themself.

It's a non-controlled airport, with AFIS only. This is very normal in urban parts of Scandinavia and the Nordic countries where you need a "manned" airport to be able to use for commercial flights - but don't want to pay for ATC with only 1 or 2 flights per day at max. So all clearences comes from the radar sector above the airport that the person in "the tower" relays to aircrafts and at the same time provides traffic information - hence you might have noticed the last video when Mattias said "runway free" because he cannot clear an aircraft to land, he can only relay the information

@@rkan2 The government policy is that even municipalities with very low population densities can't have _too_ terrible communications because then they just have no fighting chance. So, yeah, there are some airports with very low traffic but a surprising amount of infrastructure. It doesn't really cost all that much to do but it makes remote parts of the country less isolated. Some of those airports are former military airfields from the Cold War era, but this particular one isn't; it opened in 1999 when the Swedish air force was busy trying to get rid of everything it could.

Excellent video! That BV206 really does the works! Don't recall hearing about it but fixing that depression somehow might be in order. However that's going to happen. Can't do this every spring thaw.

For some odd reason that really doesn't look like work!!!! Looks like it would be way too much fun to be work!!!! Sure.. there are the miserable parts on occasion.. but.. yeah.. outdoors, mucking about, playing with big equipment.. sounds like a blast to me! Thanks for sharing, always look forward to your adventures and brings a smile knowing there are still people in the world that want to, can, and will do anything that needs to be done.
