Fixing Everything Wrong with my 7.3 Powerstroke on 24" Semi Wheels.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We've come up with a bunch of issues with this truck so we fix all of them, then take it for a test with the big trailer to do some drifting.

You can tell he does this everyday on or off camera he didn’t do all of that for the “clout” and it shows and feels good to watch because maybe it’s just where I’m from but you don’t see people being genuine in a business aspect now a days. That's what sucks about a vibration. It could be something as easy as a tire. To something you wouldn't think of. It's a try one thing. See if it's fixed. If not. Keep going down the list. Just like I thought it was my front passenger wheel bearing that was bad on my navigator. Nope. It was the rear driver side. And of course I had to pull the axel out to do them.

    Also found a post where the guy could not get the shaft to balance. All new everything in the shaft. Even a driveshaft shop told them they couldnt balance it. Ended up buying a brand new shaft. Driveshaft shop said the old shaft most likely had the cardboard inside of it come unattached and made it impossible to balance. Who would of thought cardboard would be inside? New shaft fixed all the issues.

    6. oh I believe the rear end is lowered. And with it being a 2 piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing the change of pitch from factory could cause the wrong angle for the u joints to properly work (u joints act up rotating at level) they have a certain degree they are supposed to be at. Can’t think of the exact term for it rn lol

    Hey taylor, coming from a semi mechanic, a good way to get those wheels off is to shove a long pry bar underneath the wheel and keep your hand on top. Working the pry bar up and down will let you walk the wheel off the hub, and you can put them back on this way too. I do this all the time with full size truck tires because you'll kill your back trying to pick them up and put them on.

    Thanks for reply. I've been thru hell trying to get these to work. My main problem is in the rears. They actually shake the driveshaft at 72mph! I can power thru that speed and it trembles but won't put my poor driveshaft into a jump rope situation. Or i can take the rear outers off and it won't shake the driveshaft but still the tires tremble pretty good. Not sure if I'm working with junk tires here or what

  • @pepperthekobold
    @pepperthekobold4 жыл бұрын

    The remaining shake could be the drive shaft. It's a common issue with Suzuki Samurais. It's really easy fixed if you understand the science. I've got a grasp of it. Basically, universal joints aren't constant velocity, so the joints at either end of the shaft have to be aligned correctly so they counter each other. That's why your diff and gearbox flanges need to be parallel. The wobble goes away when you come off the power because the torque converter unlocks. That's what I think anyway.

    Taylor I do truck tires for a living. What you need is centering lug nuts. They have a collar that centers one or two truck wheels depending on the ones you get. Once the wheels are centered on the studs then they hopefully will be centered on your hubs. The issue with truck wheels is the amount of movement that they have just from the lug bores. With 80k lbs it doesn't make as much of a difference as it would on a light pickup. However it's still a noticeable improvement. You can also have some of the truck tires spin balanced with stick on weights. Obviously the outside rears won't be able to without looking bad. Balance rings don't really work that well. We've had the powder clump up internally and actually make things worse

    Do they make these for cars? its like the old "fill your tyres with BB's" trick but hopefully more effective (since it costs more) then again its probably still smarter to balance your tyres instead of filling them with bb's

    I had the same problem with my Subaru not hitting target boost, after replacing everything come to find out it’s your factory boost controller Cobb sells a 3 port boost controller and it does away with the restrictor pill but does require a new tune. Johnson tuning is the best for Subaru tunes

    Good on that guy for not pretending the vibration was 100% gone. Hopefully you figure out what's causing the other half of the vibration

    Have you ever checked out your rear diff? My 3/4 ton had a shake. Come to find out, the housing was scratched up from the ring and pinion. Not sure how all that happened. Think maybe from pulling heavy and taking off to hard. Anyhow, the wheel balance is pretty cool man

    That vibration is normally caused by the front axle if it’s 4x4. It helps to add stabilizers to the front axle
