John deere combine sealant...good stuff
I would have just kept the cardboard box in place to catch it, and dump the box every round. Not only are you collecting the spilled grain, but it’s a handy way to sample grain quality and moisture.

We needed a bigger box because we were still dropping a lot on the ground!
Our neighbor used great stuff insulating foam
I like self tapper screws and pole barn tin to cover holes or five gallon buckets or 15 gallon teat dip barrels for auger trough patches😆 spray foam would have worked dandy for your repair

There is just a little gap there where the corn is leaking out. Case IH actually makes a brush kit for the feeder house to fix the issue of grain going over the feeder house drum. We learned about that after us fixing it our own way!
