In this video I am going to fix a poorly mixed track by one of my subscribers in FL Studio 20. I am not trying to make fun of this producer I am simply trying to help out with some tips and tricks about mixing and he can hopefully learn from this as well. I am not saying I am the best producer out there or I know everything about mixing but I think I have a bit more experience so I can share some useful knowledge on how to make your tracks sound better.

Hey Arcade ! Would you mind if i send you one of my projet but it's already online, i'm just curious to see how you will improve it :p
The fact that the TWO tracks that I submitted for this video, was not chosen, tells me that my production, mix and master is on point. Thanks for listening to it anyway. 👊🏻😎🔥

@@skrawn1342 Lol I ain't got time for this detective work :D There is hundreds of tracks I doubt that I'll find them :D
The kick had the effect "Fade stereo" active. It's to the right of normalize. It went from left to right from start to end of the kick. And since the end of the kick is silent, the right side of the ear wouldnt hear anything.
I think it's so much better when you make a video fixing a track, than making a video about mixing. I personnaly learn more, this way. Thank you for all your videos, they are just amazing.
Its incredible how a good mixdown can change the entire song, I guess everyone have tracks that sound like "a ball of noises" and did the mistake of playing 2 sub basses together hahaha
...I instantly regret putting my track in for this.

@@ArcadeFL I mean, I acknowledge that I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as you are (and that's kinda why I submitted a track: to see how a pro would've done my track), but NGL, you had a lot more criticism for the track than I anticipated. :/
@ArcadeFL

Nah man there was a lot of potential in the track so I wouldn't worry about it. You have a good idea of how to make music. Just work on your mixing skills and I think it will be really good! :)

@@Synfang Yeah but most of the criticism was aimed at the mixing. I mean I could pretend the mix was good but the truth is that it wasn't. And I am not here to lie. Of course it's all just my opinion :D That being said I hope you can improve it and learn something from this video :) Don't even worry about it though. It's just one song from many that you've made. I am sure going forward you are going to improve. Anyways. If you wanna feel better check out the songs I've made when I was starting and have a good laugh :D Cheers. @@skrawn1342 Nicely said. I am sure if I send my music to someone better they'd find a lot of things to criticize as well :)
Im very thankful that you started doing this video series. Im at a more advanced stage than the person that sent you the project in the video, but hearing your thought process behind your mixing decisions definetly deepened my understanding how actually mixing works. I'd love to learn more from you.
Great video man. Keep it up i enjoy your work and always learn smth new! Love ya
You really gave me idea with this video, also I have learn some things form the mixer that are going to be very useful. Nice vid!!
OMG!!! this video teached me more about mixing than ive learned for 4 weeks. thank you so much man!!! never stop whit wht ayou are doing!!!!!!!!!! :)
Thankyou again for another well rounded to the point informative video. Your sincere and genuine character shows. I always learn something useful from your craft.

ayy, like this new format!
Good made Arcade 👍🏼 and i hope the Producer like your work too. The Track is not bad, but sometimes we/a lot of people fall in a Trap and make to much, with add tons of Stuff that the Instrument/Song don't need (like you said). Good luck for this Person and have Fun to make music 🍀. Have nice days Arcade and everyone too 🍹 ;)
I like this, because I can hear how to go about fixing my own music.
Big dif, nicely done buddy!
Great stuff, I’d had liked to see you male that cord progression better
🙏🏻 thank full 🔥
hey arcade, can you make videos of you reacting to subscribers tracks please???
as a composer of my channel, its incredible! i will send the project file to you in order to fix my song!
Nice
at 5:16 i literally do that same thing with my pads but i dont have it only for the mids (around 500 - 2000 like the one in the video) i use for to fill up the low mids and mids (so around 200 - 1k range) so that it fills up that particular space because it sounds nice and thick.
Damn that was a really helpful tutorial ... honestly i respect people like you who makes music producing possible to everyone without sucking the wallet empty 😂
I like this song
fade stereo in sampler is switched on causing the pan on the kick
I submit a demo. Hope to be in the next video haha
hey there, i am a fan of your tutorials. they really improve me but would you mind to make a "how to make vocals like juice wrld "video please : )
I would love to see a video where you actually show how you Mix it (kick at - 6dB and so on) so we have a reference. you did that hidden in a video where you forgot to delete the limiter on the master but i forgot which one it was.... anyway a video with that would be awesome :)
Will there be another part like this? If so, I can send one of my projects if I can. There’s still room to polish on it, I’m wondering what you’ll get out of it
Can u pls do a total tutoial of how to siedchain whit fruity limiter
20:07 You like some horror monster. I like your videos becose you explain and show the most.
@Arcade please make a video on how to sidechain multiple sounds using a fruity limiter
The first thing I do after selecting a sound is sending it to a track on the master, adding a parametric EQ2 and removing unwanted frequencies. This will really help clean up your sounds. But as you see in the video, If you remove too many frequencies, or not enough, it can still sound bad. Trust your ears more than your eyes, and keep in mind, some sounds might not need any frequencies removed. In time you will get to know what works and what doesnt. There is no secret formula, just many hours of practice.

Hey man. Hope you're doing good and are safe from the current pandemic. By the way I'm not really a newbie but I'm also not good at music. Can you please take in a track of mine and teach everyone through it about how we can properly layer sounds ??? Please. That's a very humble request. Thank you. Take care...

That melody cured my depression... the after version of course
I'm just wondering - was there any mixing done at all on the original Project - or was it destroyed on purpose to make this Video? I cannot believe that someone can mix that badly - even a 5 year old can do a better job than it was originally !!

yo arcade you wanna collab on a beat
you really never want anything panned too far without it being balanced out. the only way I would pan something far is if it had a layer being panned to the right to balance it

Who wouldnt miss my beautiful voice :D Maybe I'll make another. I am just not sure what it would be about.
Not an expert, maybe a wanna be, but if y'all want to automate volume, or sidechain, please use Fruity Balance. It's just a nuisance that you cannot change the volume fader. For sidechaining, create a sidechain envelope in the playlist, but don't leave it there, rather, put a note in the channel rack and put it under a kick, I'd prefer putting the kick inside the same pattern as the sidechain so you don't have to counter even more nuisance.
The producer might be new, When everybody wants to be Avicii
This guy thinks that's a lot of FX, if only he could see my drum chains...

it feels as if the producer just copied a pro template & put some midi in it becz the mix is so bad that it doesnt make sense to have a song in one key and whats more that he doesnt even have drum loops in tempo...huhh
Sounds like utter garbage :D
