You're not a true musician if your school doesn't upgrade your instrument as soon as you leave.

For 3 years of highschool I played the school-owned bass trombone that was practically falling apart. I’ve had both triggers fail at the solder joints while I was playing and during a football game it may or may not have been hit by a football and just crumpled the bell lol. Well in my senior year, they finally upgraded to a very nice brand new bass trombone. It was like Christmas. It played so good, the tone was amazing, both triggers were buttery smooth and the slide would glide effortlessly. I really should’ve kept playing after I graduated :( I miss it.

Not necessarily an instrument, but when I was in school, I decided I wanted to do audio engineering. The last half of my senior year, they started an audio recording and editing class. It was great, but I wish I could have taken more of it, lol.

Yup. They built an auditorium right in my school, and I used to have to go to another campus in the district to attend my high school orchestra.

Keep mentioning the correct names for the parts! It's nice to learn what everything is called
Why is it when you leave your school, it suddenly gets better? Like my old elementary, up to junior high school used to ban students from bringing their phones to school, when I moved for senior highschool, they lifted that ban. Wtf.

When I was in high school I was so glad my school inherited a Steinway model D my freshman year. Apparently it used to be the first Steinway concert grand in my city, from the 1950s and was pretty much the city’s main concert hall piano for a good while. It’s pretty old but was a fantastic upgrade from the Yamaha we had before. It’s a shame that it really never got played much, I wish to play it again.

“I’m a little bit salty…” That’s a nice way to put it. 😊
It's kind of odd that the original design didn't include a locking washer or something to prevent the nut from backing off of securing the hammer rest rail. Seems unlikely the gap he showed in the vid would have been due to wood shrinkage.
bro played the error message sound at the end and i thought i got one from my computer 😮😮😅💀💀💀💀💀💀
Quick question: my piano is out of tune, and as somebody who would like to be a piano technician someday, I would like to try and tune it myself. Do you think that's reasonably doable or should I just hire a professional technician?

Are you willing to deal with the irritation that comes with learning a new thing. You could break a piece of the piano. You could have to put more time and effort into it & still need to call a professional. Is it worth learning to do it?
@MrSoAsian225

I just got and tuned an old square grand piano, one notorious for needing professionals with experience. I looked up a couple tutorials and got a decent kit off Amazon and I tuned it in about 2 hours. It takes a bit to catch on but once you do a few notes it shouldn't be a big issue. Just be very gentle and make very small adjustments at first.
please learn sorrow and loss on piano. it's such a pretty track in Final Fantasy IV and XIV and sounds STUNNING on piano
Excellent video. I learned something from you. I didn’t know that the rest rail could cause noise. Well done.

I just got a square piano from 1858 and i managed to set it up and tune it without an issue but a few of the notes dont play properly. I was curious if you have any info on how to remove the action on a square grand so i can do it myself instead of needing to find a specialist.

@MiScusi69 well rectangle. People call them square grands though and they're about 7 feet wide and 4 feet long. They're typically a pain in the ass to work on, but they have a bit of an antique look to them.

@@MrSoAsian225 Oh, those! Nah, they don't have an antique look, they're just ugly. Curvy pianos are supreme.
My high school bought a brand new tenor saxophone after I left. The one I played had seen better days but still put out a sweet sound. Now, 110 years after graduation, I play the soprano saxophone exclusively.
I like knowing the names of these parts! Maybe I’ll do this someday. It looks really fun and interesting
i feel you, once i graduated my highschool they got more cooler stuff, like airconditioned rooms for one. 😂

Explora has a new piano unfortunately, but still cool. Their old 1933 upright they rescued in 2017, NOT 1993, was thrown out after just the HORRIBLE condition it was in. Was also far out of tune. They got a smaller upright from 1939, and it’s in REALLY good condition. I was rescued in summer of 2023. It’s out of tune, but I love it
For the next song could you do “moon waltz” by cojum dip?
I despise Electric Keyboards - there’s something about the keys that just doesn’t feel right. They’re way too springy and they feel way too light. So if I’m playing something that requires a light touch or me to move my hand fast, the keyboard doesn’t help me do either of those things.
I wish you could come to italy and fix the piano at our university 🥲
Good stuff! Congratulations.
Looks like a Kawai GX series piano. They're fantastic pianos.
I would say this piano is cute, but it already is, in Japanese.
Yeahhhhhh You are our piano doctor❤😊
Did I just see him turn the bolt with a 🪛!!!?😮
Electric keyboards can be quite good depending on how they make the sounds. Some of them are just really small synthesizers which is cool. I hate the ones that just play samples tho they usually suck

You need to do a regulation, set the blow distance properly and get those hammers off the rest rai!!!
@PianoDoctor
6 ай бұрын
The piano does need a regulation. I talked to the person who controls the budget for the that kind of stuff and they weren’t ready to invest that kind of money though. As far as the hammers resting on the hammer rest rail, they were actually sitting above it (for those of you who don’t know, hammers aren’t actually supposed to rest on the rail.)
Somehow my small ass highschool had 10 grand pianos
This happenes all the time School has some piece of garbage thing You graduate and suddenly the school got a billion dollar fund and is in the year 2050
It could be a "just prepared piano". 😅
Ngl ur old highschool probably wants you to be gone if they immediately put that grand piano right after you graduated. They prob had it and decided to put it on display right after you were gone 😂

Do you need to tune an electric piano
@InventorZahran
5 ай бұрын
That depends on how it produces the sound. If it's a Clavinet with real strings inside, then yes, it has to be regularly tuned. But if it's a Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, or other electric piano with no strings, then no tuning is required. Obviously, electronic keyboards don't need to be tuned because they have no acoustic parts to go out-of-tune.
isn't that normal with school's? right after you leave it gets upgraded
Its alsways like that... Once you leave the school you are at they suddenly starts adding new cool stuf...as if they were waiting for you to leave so they can add new stuf I hated this
