Wow. Thank you so much I just started on this and stopped because I was destined to break something if I didn't see a demonstration. For me, i'm replacing the interior door latch cable because I snapped mine taking off the door card. Would you still go through this whole process for it or do you think the black center panel and windshield can remain in the door and worked around while suspending the windshield with duct tape to get to the actuator to replace just the cable?

My hat is off to you. You are out of your mind crazy to be taking apart that door. Nice job getting it fixed and back to working properly.

Thanks 👍 hahah. It was actually a pretty easy job. Just a few screws and bolts. I think anyone could handle the job. And it beats paying the dealer $600

Great video 👍🏼. Use a trim removal tool (plastic) to undo the plastic clips from the doorpanel. Less chance they break. And good to have some spare plastic clips for the door panel at hand in case they snap. There is no need to remove the glass. You can tape it in the top position after unclipping it. Save some work and hassle 😉.

I left my trim tool in my other toolbox. I got lucky. I have a few spare clips in my toolbag for door panels, etc. I always seem to need one.

Good work there! It's normal that the alarm kicks in when manually unlocking. In theory this is something you have to do when your car battery is dead. However in the scenario where your key fob battery is dead (and let's say you can't find a 1.5v battery anywhere), you will still be able to stop the alarm by putting it right under the steering column. The car would pick up the key chip even without a battery. Cheers!

A word to the wise about Land Rover ownership. Never try to repair everything, keep a couple of minor things broken. If you try to make a Land Rover perfect, it will keep breaking other parts in protest. This has been my experience with many Rovers over 30 years of ownership 😅
