Fixed Rough Idle and Cold Start Mitsubishi

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Found out it was fuel pressure loss that caused the long cranks after sitting and odd idling. Didnt cost anything to fix!

Hello, may you please show me your distributor cable positions in relation to their respective cylinders? And what's the firing order for this engine? Will greatly appreciate every information about this engine, I have one misbehaving.

I just took one for scrap today with 89000 miles on the clock with a dead head gasket, super select issues and in need of new shocks!

@studogs80 How? I have seen many cars and trucks (atleast in America, where I live) in much worse shape then this still on the road! This one still has some miles left in it.

I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Montero V-6 LS, American. I have an idle prob/ cold start as well. When I start it in the morning or whenever it has sat for a bit, half hour, hour or more, I start it and have to keep my foot on gas peddle and rev it to about 1000 rpms & keep reving it there till the needle on the temp gage reaches just into or above the cold mark or above that. Then I can take foot off gas and it will then idle on its own. If I dont do this, it will just die over and over after starting it.... Can anyone help me with this? The person I bought it from took it in to mechanics to have it checked out and they apparently didn't or couldn't fix it?? There has got to be a fix...

Jacqueline Camp I am having the exact same problem on my 2.8 diesel pajero 1998. I have changed the hoses that goes from the fuel filter to the engine and sealed it all around. Changed the glow plugs and the glow plug relay. I have yet to check the fuel lines all the way back, haven't seen any serious leaks on the ground where i park it. So must be a really small hole that the air leaks in or it drops pressure. Will check in back where fuel tank is and fuel pump and see if there's any leak around there today after this video.

Well he found the problem and put a temporary fix. I'd definitely get a new pump and fuel lines. And his belt tensioner was definitely weak

@studogs80 In my experiece i have to disagree, yes this one had a few problems but it wasnt used for around 2 years. My dad has exactly the same car and engine with nearly 200,000 miles and has had no mechanical problems apart from wear and tear stuff

Hahaha, now that I think about it, looking at your enigne and an engine in a Dodge Grand Carvan 3.0 (Mitsubishi engine), I think that they are the same, apart from the intake manfold!!!

you know your steering wheel is on the wrong side right? no just kidding but is that really what you call a permanent solution? that looks tacky and all together unsafe in my opinion. im having a similar problem with my american model but slowly fixing it haha. anyways good luck with yours have fun and what not.

@Motorfordtoyota its a ticky, rattly old mistubishi which no doubt needs lots of work, uses oil has a rusty old fuel pump etc. These cars have crap autos that fail often and that awful V6 that has dodgy valve seals that warp and leak oil. Better to trash it then waste money

@GreenV6Shogun I don't believe that for a second mate sorry. My family owned one with that motor and transmission. Was a piece of shit, gearbox failed, motor got smokey. One of my friends mum had 1 too. same things happened after like 160,00km. Both well maintained. They suck. And thats why where i live they discontinued them
