First part is most important I've been using the wrong cable the whole time!

Damn your first point about the data cable fixed my issue!!!!

Do i use only the data transfer cable or do i use all three

1. Using the right cable (for data transfer) 2. Safe mode: The PS4 prompted me to make a new install, at the end, after trying everything else, this was the only method to solve the problem. Now back to normal operation. Have no idea, why the PS4 was suddenly stuck in the DUALSHOCK Screen, as there were no installs or changes. May be it got corrupted while automatically trying to install the latest update 11.02.

I followed this exactly, with a data cable, with 2 different controllers and 2 different data cables , in both regular mode and safe mode. PS4 screen is still saying to connect the Dualshock 4 etc. Any suggestions to help me?

Ive used good cords it still didn't work

I just tried all my cables that came with the ps4 and none of them worked, my controller kept blinking yellow/orange and then shut off. I thought all those things were the same.

I did it I was unable to login bc no controllers worked and not even the remote play could help bc its been so long. But I used a playstation 4 charger and a regular basic charger and "data transfer charger" is actually a thing.

I got a used ps4 with an astro controller. It worked at first but then I initialized it bc I didn't want someone else's name and info on it. When i turned back on I was stuck on this same blue screen. It seems to only want a dual shock 4. Although the Astro works in safe mode the ps button doesn't work on the blue screen.

Brilliant i have a wired controller usb now im going to have to fork out 40 quid to get a controler with the data cable. Yes i have an original ps4 controller but its boxed away. Well done Sony your updates brick peoples PS4s and this results in them having to reinitialise.

See I think mines bricked I reset my PS4 back to factory because I was going to sell it but never did now I'm trying to set it up again but my controller won't connect even with the controller plugged into it I've never had this problem before so it's just stuck on this screen making my PS4 worthless

If anyone still has this problem, just go to safe mode, connect with any cable, then restart with the cable still in. Then turn your controller on, it’s an easier way

@@ruisilva792 You should rebuild the database, go back to safe mode, reconnect the controller with the wire. If that doesn't work then the problem is your cable and you need a data transfering cable, so your console reads the controllers connection instead of only charging it

@@danielazyan no I did not I called PlayStation support and they basically told me to do stuff I was already doing 🤦🏾‍♂️the ps4 only lets the controller connect in safe mode and the game still want update it’s stuck in a loop it downloads the file than says error than restart the download
