The mk8 civic is the same , trash trims and clips . I just brought a civic and atleast 2 or 4 arch trims have broken clips lol ....

This is true, and they also break for no reason or without anyone touching anything. They are cheap, its just a PITA to the clips or driving down to the parts dept to pick them up.

When you take off the trim you orient off the clips off to the side.
You skipped getting the clips into the trim.
