Did you find that the built-in tools (i.e. the compressor) were inadequate that you decided to use a plug in for virtually everything?

Not necessarily, that video was in 2021 and OBS didn't have their own out of the box filters until more recently. They are a good starting point.

Hello. I bought a HyperX quadcast, but no matter what I do I can't activate the filters in obs. I click on the eye marks, but my voice always sounds really bad. I don't know what's missing. The voice sounds the same whether I activate the filters or not. I followed everything you showed me step by step.

I would check the properties of the mic object itself and in the dropdown make sure the right microphone is selected. It may have another device entirely that the filters are applying to.

Hello man, I wonder if you could help me with this one: I applied filters and right after, OBS stopped recording my mic. At all. Only the sound from the games I am trying to record. How did this happen? Before it was working perfectly, just applying the filters messed it all up.

I don’t know how a filter would do that, but you could always delete them all from the mixer object. Before you do that though, I would click properties of the mixer object and make sure it hasn’t swapped to another device it thinks is a microphone. I’ve had that happen many times.

@@StreamTechTV it didn't switch. i checked it . also removed filters, it still didn't work. I had to reinstall the program for it to start working. dunno what happened man. thanks for the answer though, I appreciate it.
