Fix High RAM Memory Usages By Google Chrome | Make Chrome Faster

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Google Chrome is a memory hog, we all know this. It takes tons of memory on the computer and makes it run slow.
If you are running Google Chrome on Laptop/PC with less RAM it will make it much slower.
There are some tweaks that can make your Google Chrome run faster without eating RAM memory.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿
These tips Works on Windows 7, 8/8.1, and Windows 10 with all the updates.
1. Open Task Manager of Google Chrome and find which extensions are taking high memory, then disable them.
2. Go to Settings then Advanced, enable GPU Acceleration when possible.
3. Delete the Google Chrome junk from the Default folder.
4. Download and install "The great suspender" chrome extension to release the memory from unused tabs.
5. From the Advanced settings disable "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed". This will also fix the slow performance of other software on your computer since it will close google chrome completely and you can work on other programs.
These tips and tricks would make your Chrome faster, but be sure not to open tons of tabs if you are on a computer with low RAM memory.
If you don't fix high RAM memory usages by Google Chrome then it will run slow and also it will throw frequent errors related to memory.
These errors are sbox_fatal_memory_exceeded or xbox fatal memory exceeded. There may not be any other issue with your Windows PC but Chrome is taking all the memory.
Just clear the excess RAM usages by Chrome and you will not get those errors.
Read the updates since the great suspender has been removed for violating Chrome policies-
www.itechfever.com/fix-high-m...
You can use OneTab Chrome extension, a top alternative to the great suspender.
Note: It is advised to create a system restore point before following any Windows tutorial.

Have been having PC crashes due to excessive Chrome memory use, and after watching this and implementing your suggestions, my PC is MUCH faster and has much more memory available, and I'm confident the crashes are history. Thanks so much. In particular I think the suggestion to rename the Default folder in the AppData, thus clearing that out, along with turning OFF the "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" feature, were key for me. Great work Mr. Singh!

Have you tried undervolting the ram? I used to get a BSOD once a year and once i undervolted the ram from 1.65V to 1.5V and im confident that i wont get a bsod ever again because my ram kit is mismatched with different voltages and i have no spares so its the most i could do. You should check with cpu-z though to check if they are mismatched as to not accidentally lose performance

Or just change to some other browser that doesn´t hog as much memory. It´s ridiculous the amount of memory the thing uses. I have 64gb of memory because I work in 3D modelling and rendering, so i need a lot of memory and after a while I decided to check the quantity of memory was being used by the system. Yep, it was using 62gb of it. Nice work google.

Everyday I have to shut Chrome down just to immediately restart it, because when I start it, it might be 43% but later in the day it always ramps itself up to 98+% & starts lagging everything. Forcing shutting it down & reopening it so it flushes all the memory it has seized and can go back to running well for a few hours until it seizes everything again, over & over. I get very tired of constantly having to restart it & every time you do, not only does it waste time and some things you were working on need resetting back up, but you risk the restore failing. Some things cause it to force a restart much sooner. Like if I watch a KZread Live, especially for 30 minutes or more then within 1-2 hrs the PC memory will be 98+% & it will 100% be Chrome. Like when I start Chrome it might show 3,970 MB but later will start banging 12,000+ MB with the same stuff open that is just 3,970 when I first start/restart Chrome.

  • @johnbender1364

    @johnbender1364

Like I just restarted Chrome maybe 15 minutes ago. I've sat here and not done anything on it, I'm on a mini-pc typing this, not the main pc that I'm talking about. That main pc sat there at 3,970 43%, until just a minute ago, now it has just increased to 5,320 MB & 53% memory. Without me doing anything on that pc & it's 100% Chrome just swelling up as the clock ticks. And Power Usage Very Low for everything else, but going back & forth from Moderate to VERY HIGH in RED for flipping Chrome. Now it's blinking back & forth Low & Moderate. Chrome seems unstable in its memory & power usage, it's ridiculous.
